HERO SUMMARY:


Altheleos, the Paradox Construct is an extremely unorthodox hero that defies a conventional dota 2 hero in a lot of ways. And while it is meant to be balanced, some parts of his skill-set and game-plan are unique enough that there isn't really anything similar to compare balance with.
Right off the bat, Altheleos has ZERO strength and ZERO strength gain! It starts the game running at 200 HP unless it buys strength items. It is also perpetually disarmed, never able to release a single normal attack in his life. Instead, it relies on its powerful abilities to deal damaage and keep our mechanical maniac alive.

His Astral Cannon is his most interesting ability. Streaming a deadly laser beam in an area defined by Astral Pointer. Paradoxically dealing more damage the more resistant his enemies are. Bask into the empyrean awesomeness! Drastic Sunburst covers Altheleos in bright, fatal light. Enemies gain full vision of its own vision, but it provides with extreme health regeneration and massive explosion at the end!. Paradox Genome will forever be on a throne of the most OP abilities. Just a flat out damage reduction which reduces even more damage the more painful the damage is!

Immaculate Graviton is an ultimate aura. Enemies who overstayed their welcome and sticks too near the mechanical construct for too long will take extreme pure DPS which heals the construct. And despite being an ultimate on a overly complicated hero, it has the simplest active component: slow enemies in an aura! Truly, a paradox in the delicate thread of Dota 2 existence!

PROS :
  • Can deal high constant damage per second both magical and pure.
  • Has insane passive that lets it tank despite the 0+0 strength.
  • Unbelievably good talents.
  • Counters high magic resistance heroes.
CONS :
  • You've seen this guy's attributes, right?
  • Countered by high damage bursts, very high damage bursts.
  • Spells are delayed and are greatly telegraphed to enemies.
  • Required to stay in the middle of the fights?

LORE:


Way beyond the clouds, soaring without wings. The Light Bringers are a race of advanced creatures who have detached themselves from the world below. So sophisticated was their civilization that their lowly neighbors, the Skywraths, can only envy. It used to be that the two races are allies, ancient allies. But circumstances about the Skywrath's nature of greed, vengeance, and jealousy of the other had left them to be the inferior ones as they grew their separate nations.

It wasn't very long when the Light Bringers severed their allegiance as they no longer find their relationship beneficial. And as a final token of camaraderie, the Skywrath queen was given a gift of ultimate value. An artificial and powerful autonomous creature of hyper-intelligence known only as The Construct, who shall serve the throne so long as it remained functional. The Skywrath Advisor Althei cry outrage, claiming it to be a sinful act of treason to the sacred texts. Not to mention a shameless display of superiority against them. But what can he and his followers do? The Light Bringers have already left them and any act of force will be unwinnable.

Never such a man so vengeful and so desperate as Althei as for him to turn into the forbidden arts. Any Skywrath sane enough will understand the Light Bringers and get it over with. But to rip one's soul into The Construct for a slim chance of complete control over its body is none closer to madness! As a second-in-command to the throne, he was free to tinker with the machine... or so he thought. The spell flashed with a dark light and his soul, as planned, is now with The Construct, but his consciousness and sense of identity was forgotten on the former body, left to decay. Meanwhile The Construct, now with a soul it needed to do a cunning grin, left off and abandoned its oath.

[W] Drastic Sunburst


Shrouds Altheleos with a blinding light, gaining flying movement, and regeneration. However, enemies gain vision of his entire vision range and the Construct cannot turn invisible in this state. At the very end of the duration, the core collapses on itself, dealing high explosion damage to nearby enemies.

GAMEPLAY :



Altheleos works best as a position 2 or 3. Once he has built enough health items to sustain himself from most damage, he is now on-line to blind the future of his opponents!
Generally, with his very weak starting health and magic resistance, maxing Paradox Genome is never a bad idea. But since he had very high base health regeneration at 15HP/s (!) and also starts with high armor thanks to its starting agility, he can forego maxing either Drastic Sunburst or Astral Cannon if he is laned against physical damage.

Early game :
  • Tango - Healing Salve might just overheal him, wasting some precious health. The best way to go is to Tango
  • Bracer - His most reliable source of durability early game. Stack up 2 or 3 of these to really get its worth.
Mid game :
  • Arcane Boots - Allows more opportunities to keep casting Astral Cannon.
  • Mekansm - He has the mana pool, and the heal is not to be underestimated especially with the damage reduction he has.
  • Drum of Endurance - has great chase potential that synergizes well with Drastic Sunburst.
  • Urn of Shadows - An item that prefers to stay close to enemies, gives heal, and adds damage over time? Sounds like a perfect item!
  • Aeon Disk - All of his damage output is delayed. Overall a good item to keep him alive as he wait out late-to-respond effects.
