"Let's get a fire going!"

Design

Here’s a thought experiment: If you showed non-players Lina’s base kit, no names or animations, how many people would guess her theme is fire? When you strip it down, there really won’t be a lot. Fire is mostly represented and best distinguished from other elements through burning, and having all her actives be straight out nukes doesn’t communicate this well. Thematically, she is one the least well-expressed hero and mechanically, she also has one of the blandest kits.

So, a big focus of this rework is to make her feel fierier as well as feel more distinct from heroes with whom she has similar spells to. But I understand the concern of taking away her role as a burst nuker, so I do want to preserve part of that in this iteration with a little unique touch. I also want to dedicate a part of this to try making her right click build shine better. Here is the current Lina for reference, and any unmentioned numbers are assumed to remain the same.

Primary Abilities

Dragon Slave
Launch a scorching heat wave in a line.

Enemies hit are revealed for 4 seconds, burning over the duration.

Ability: Target Point
Mana Cost: 90, 110, 130, 150
Cooldown: 8
Range: 750
Radius: 200
Damage: Magical
Total Damage: 100, 200, 300, 400
Light Strike Array
Summon a column of flames after 0.5 seconds.

Enemies hit are stunned, burning over the duration.

Ability: Target Area
Mana Cost: 90, 110, 130, 150
Cooldown: 8
Range: 600
Radius: 250
Damage: Magical
Stun: 1.6, 2, 2.4, 2.8
Total Damage: 120, 180, 240, 300
Fiery Soul
Casting spells increases her attack speed and reduces her base attack time for 10 seconds.

Additional casts refresh the duration and stack this effect up to 3 times.

Whenever she gains a stack, her move speed increases for 2 seconds.

Ability: Passive
Attack Speed per Stack: 30, 40, 50, 60
BAT Reduction per Stack: 0.1
Move Speed: 16, 24, 32, 40%

Ultimate Abilities

Laguna Blade
Concentrate her fire into lightning to strike an enemy.

The target and enemies around it will be Cauterized for 10 seconds.

Cauterized enemies instantly take half of the total damage from damage over time debuffs.

Aghanim’s Scepter: Becomes pure damage. Allows the damage and debuff to pierce spell immunity.
