HERO SUMMARY


Ethra is a ranged agility hero specializing in inflicting the Ethereal status to her enemies. Units in ethereal form cannot attack and cannot be attacked. They are immune to all physical damage, but takes increased magic damage. Psych Out discombobulates an opponent's spirit in which they are inflicted with fear and ethereal debuff, while Ethereal Gate unleashes ghostly energies that turns her and her enemies ethereal.
And while you would expect that this specialization allows her to focus on dealing magical spell damage to her enemies, none of her spells deal damage whatsoever! Instead, she wields her Spirit Glaive[1], a weapon designed to sunder spirits. Toggling on the weapon allows her to bypass the ethereal status, attacking with increased speed and converting it to magical damage while severely slowing enemies. However, the glaive cannot damage the mortal flesh, so not a single bonus is gained when attacking non-ethereal units, other than keeping her melee.
Able to make rifts between the mortal and the spirit realm, Her ultimate Phantasmagoria creates an ethereal rift. This rift resonates to her form, teleporting her a short distance while the same rift ravages the spirits of her foes, silencing and muting in an area. The
The combined strengths of her abilities effectively turns her into a powerful disabler! Phantasmagoria into Ethereal Gate into Spirit Glaive is a silence + mute + disarm + Massive Slow all at once; That's basically an honorary stun! In the right hands, Ethra can unleash godly amounts of both disable and damage while being nigh untouchable herself! For this reason, she will be played mostly as a safelane position 1 or a tempo-setting mid-laner, similar to Templar Assassin.

[1](not to be confused with the throwable weapons also called "glaives" used by Silencer and Luna. It's a single-edged pole weapon. A swordspear, if you will.)

PROS :
  • High agility gain
  • Counters physical damage carries
  • Extremely synergistic abilities: R → W → E combo
  • Boasts high magic damage despite no abilities with damage
  • Strong set of disables
CONS :
  • Average farming speed at best
  • countered by BKB, magic damage, literally any disable, and enemy saves
  • Relies too much on ethereal status; useless without it
  • Physical damage dealer allies are compromised
  • Will forever be a niche pick

Ethra was the third to join the Veiled Sisters, and the first to perish... However, this makes her the first to demonstrate that, by one's power and devotion to the duty of assassination, could death becomes merely a small distraction that cannot remove them from their sacred duty.

The Veiled Oracle recognizes her talents and strengths as among the strongest of the assassins, and for this reason is why her list is long, with names of gods and mortal spanning across timelines, centuries apart. But the list is finite, and she's finally down to the tail end of her sacred list. Her mission is almost done, and how perfectly wonderful is it that they will all be gathering on one very eventful day...

Toggle. Ethra wields her legendary weapon. She becomes melee, as well as have her attacks converted to magic damage and bypass the ethereal status. Attacking an ethereal target, she gains bonus attack speed, (20true strike,) as well as apply a crippling slow. The slow cannot persist outside of ethereal state.
