Hey all!

Safecyn and I have been theorycrafting up some mid Omni builds recently, and I've come up with some crazy stuff. It works perfectly in bot games (I wish I could prove myself, but I don't have an imgur account). I went 38/0/16 against unfair bots.

But I can't prove that, so you guys'll have to check out my build:

Start:
Quelling Blade, Orb of Venom, Tango.

Laning
Boots of Speed, Ring of Basilius, (Bottle), Phase Boots

Early
Armlet of Mordiggian, + either Echo Sabre or Vladmir's Offering.

Mid
Sange and Yasha, Blink Dagger

Extentions
Assault Cuirass, Eye of Skadi, Moon Shard, Bloodthorn.

You go mid, you start degen and you whack em over the head with a hammer.
4-0-4 by level 8, skill ult at 10 and 11.

FEAR NO EVIL

Cheers,
Sofa

Bottle-boots-oov-phase-sange-sny-whatever you need to kill kids from that point.

That's the build some booster uses to occasionally wreck 2-3k brackets. You'll probably need 1 point in repel before you max out E in most games.

So, how this is better than a Lifestealer mid for example ?

The press R win teamfight aspect.

Kind of the same reason why there are games where you'd want to build a Shadow Blade on a core Silencer over picking Clinkz for example. That sounds stupid when you first see it, but then you understand : it's just a good combination of damage and utility.

Meme potential.
There are two kinds of people in the world; those who can count, and those who can't.

I'd call extremely situational, he's just not competitive with most mid heroes. With one set of Tangos, low starting heal from Purification and minimal mana regen you'd probably get zoned or at least outhit very hard.

Would second the call for a point in W relatively early, but not really convinced this is a good idea unless you knew your matchup and it worked ok for you.

He's actually pretty good against melee mids because of Purification. Omni's lane control isn't even that bad when you compare him to Dragon Knight for example.

It's just, the times where any hero with an AOE nuke could be played mid because of Bottle abuse is long past. Since you can't spam Q with bottlecrow or even runes anymore, you're pretty limited in what you can do.

Your best option is to rush a Soul Ring and clear every wave with your Q, DK style.

(The classic Tango + Ring of Regen starting build, always go full Brood XD)

Omniknight seems like he's more suited for aggressive dual offlanes against melee carries, since there is often a lot more space to run at and slow people, kind of like Batrider (though he is more xp dependent than Omni).

Also like Batrider, might be good mid if the matchup is favorable. Specifically, Pudge, DK, and Ember, since Pudge you can just sucker punch and laugh at if you get hooked unless its under tower, and DK + Ember get owned by Purification. Might also work against a Zeus and a Storm.

Dunno if he can beat Kunkka, that guy is getting really strong in lane now, but Omni is one of his hardest counters still.

As for the build, why do you need to build damage on him? Why not play him as a Pos 3 mid, with things like greaves, aghs, and stuff. I mean, at the least, Radiance. This is a guy with no damage steroid at all.
