I'm open to suggestions of your favourite carry heroes that can stomp pub games.
If it's a good Pubstomer, then Spectre is probably the worst possible option. You need to ensure that your Team makes space for you in the Early Game otherwise you'll end up with 0 Farm...
And one major nerf which is that Silver Edge makes her completely unplayable. How are you going to carry without your passives? She's really just Slark food now.
...and that's even before you consider the Meta. 8{(
I'd suggest Juggernaut, he may have got bounced around a bit in the last few patches, but he's still a great hero. Very flexible, and thrive ( Blade Fury) or survive ( Healing Ward) in almost any lane. Easy to learn but also has a high skill ceiling.
Juggernaut is definitely a fun Hero. If you want a standard cookie cutter build to use while you learn him. I recommend the following:-
So basically you are looking for (carry)heroes that can do well on their own, without having to be on your teams mercy about creating space or providing more-than-basic support?
Not all of those specifically qualify as carries, but they have good game impact regardless of farm, while also being able to scale well into the lategame, by having it.
Viper - insanely good laner, especially against melee heroes. In pro games you usually see him pick up utility items like Mekansm or Aghanim's Scepter, but for pubs you can even go for a right-click oriented route.
Juggenaut - He brings really nice kill potential to a lane and can start to get solo kills as soon as he hits level 6.
Clinkz - Very evasive and has a high dmg output. He needs to farm for about 10~15 minutes though, before he can go for solo kills. Very squishy!
Huskar - High killing power and some serious snowball potential. His passive Berserker's Blood makes him very, very strong against magic damage nukers. Physical damage is his downfall however.
Ursa - Once he gets close to an enemy, he can tear them apart with a few hits. Pretty decent solo killing power and extremely good at manfighting.
As stated previously jugg is still a strong hero after the patches which makes me wonder why pro teams have overlooked him in 6.84. In ti5 and so far I have not yet seen a juggernaut played in the qualifiers as teams opt for standard Gyro , Spectre and PL for their carrys. Why do you guys think Juggernaught has drifted from the current meta?
Also I agree that Spectre can fail in pubs without team coordination and line up providing farming space. And let's be honest it is not often that you get ideal conditions in Pubs. However if the game goes late and you have been able to passively farm your radiance then you can easily carry your team to victory. The obvious problem is Silver Edge and the new break mechanic. Making it much harder against common pub carries such as Sniper and Ursa as they will offern pick up shadow blades and transition into Silver Edge. Spectre is now a very situational pick imo.
Anyway I am reading all suggestions of effective carries in Pub games, also if you have builds for other carries that make them better or more viable feel free to share them in this Thread.
Why do you guys think Juggernaught has drifted from the current meta?
Mask of nerfness no longer gives ******** movement speed so there's no good item build on him anymore. What do you even build on him now? Drum SnY like some pros do? Yuck.
No ******** movement speed -> he now gets kited
Now hard countered by TP scrolls
Now countered by Ghost Scepter + TP scroll
Never underestimate the power of BKB-piercing ministuns. Some even say that the old Terrorblade's Sunder had one use and one use only : breaking BKB - TP scrolls.
He was nerfed hard in this patch. Really hard. Jugg runs at you? Just TP out. Nerfernaut can now share his misery with Bloodseeker.
That's actually a really bad way to play Spectre that doesn't play to her strengths at all.
Spectre is not a hero that you pick to farm passively. Don't confuse with Anti-Mage or Medusa. Spec has literally nothing in common with these heroes.
Spectre is a bit like Chaos Knight...very slow farming speed, pretty weak lane presence, but then she's a hard carry who only needs levels to start being effective and has tons of pickoff potential.
Spec is a hero you pick to go for pickoffs as soon as you hit level 6, and join some teammates that want to do the same (best example is Bounty Hunter). Her inexistent lane presence is made up for by the fact that she starts being useful 6 minutes into the game.
If you want to passively farm for 30 minutes without being active on the map, seriously pick another carry like Dusa or AM.
Best analogy to Spectre's playstyle is Faceless Void. Slow farming speed, bad laning, but can go for kills wherever ultimate is up, as soon as they hit level 6. Fight whenever ult is up, farm whenever ult is down.
Stop saying ******** about Juggernaut, he is the current best of the popular 6.83 heroes.
Mask of madness still works, its just doesnt give the ******** movespeed anymore, so running away is harder.
in pro games his winrate is VERY high for the amount of games played with 63% out of 85 games.
if you dont go mask of madness then you can just go stat items, you farm slower but are tankier in fights.
spectre is pretty good in pubs just based on the fact that you can fight with your team using your ult, and pubs are pretty bad at pushing the advantage, so she can often go to the lategame and defend highground with her ult. try to get radiance if you can, it really makes her teamfight much stronger.
Necrophos is strong because pubs cant handle heartstopper and heals. oh i have 500 health and that necro has 200? better go on him, suddenly death pulse and you have more HP then him. Same with abbadon.
Phantom Lancer is pretty good, pubs have a hard time dealing with him and he is ok in lane.
You don't get Mask of Madness primarily for movespeed, you get it for attack speed, so it's easier for him to attack during Omnislash. At least, for me. And as Timmi said, he's the most popular hero from the 6.83 era.
You also get it because on Juggernaut is the best farm accelerator on the hero. Like, none of the other traditional farming items work on Jugg as well as MoM. Plus the hero still has his ability to solo Roshan.
In essence the Mask of Madness movespeed nerf did little to nerf his damage out-put (Yes, he can be kited now, but he still builds at least 1 movespeed item in Yasha, builds Phase Boots, and has his MoM so still run really fast, and he still builds Eye of Skadi as an eventual item to help reduce kiting.
So as Timm said, all the move-speed nerf did was to nerf his ability to run away. He's still a bugger to kite in turn.
He's also not countered that hard by TP scrolls - He has suprising amounts of physical burst damage because his crit chance is so high, and he has really high attack speed with MoM, even in earlier fights. Even Ghost Scepter and TP is counterable because you can use items in Omnislash, and Jugg is a great Diffusal Blade carrier. Besides, Ghost Scepter is usually a second pick-up on supports, because mobility items are of a higher priority, even against Jugg.
In fairness, it's not hardest to be the best of the popular 6.83 heroes - Sniper and Troll Warlord suffered from losing there laning dominance ( Sniper in particular because Shrapnel was the thing that made him truly viable competitively.), Troll Warlord got an actual counter-pick in the form of Winter Wyvern, Sniper lost come-back mechanics that really propelled him high because he was amazing at high ground defence, and those two and Storm Spirit are really hurt by deathball being viable again.
Basically Juggernaut suffered the least in terms of nerfs (Because he's fundamentally the same in terms of damage out-put and laning, he's just got less solo-kill potential), and had the most favourable meta shift out of all of them (He's better against deathball than all the others is what I meant to say).
Tbh Gyrocopter is probably the best carry to focus on right now. He's very much a pub hero, because he's great at fighting early and often, and he's just the strongest right clicking carry in the game right now.
That's actually a really bad way to play Spectre that doesn't play to her strengths at all.

Sorry, but i simply cant agree on any of these points.
Her strong point IS, that she can passively farm, while at the same time ALWAYS being able to participate in teamfights.
I also dont get the comparison to CK. Spectre is a sustained dps hero, while CK is burst oriented. Not having items on her also limits her effectiveness. With a 0.3 dmg multiplier on her illusions alone, she hardly is able to melt faces ...left alone that her illusions wont survive long enough without high base STR when the enemy team has good aoe dmg.
Surely, she can be built as a ganker with stuff like Vanguard and/or Diffusal Blade, but her ult definitely does more in teamfights. If anything id compare her to Bristle back.
