: An aggressive and unstoppable surge of power, Havoc excels at running circles around his foes and building up his power to release in bursts.

Havoc, the Stormblade, is a melee agility hero that utilizes his abilities to race around the battlefield and build up magnetic charges and steal damage from his foes. Havoc is hard to build against, with a large amount of magical and physical damage. He can be a good anti-carry due to bkb-piercing stun and damage steal. Since Havoc has copious damage and mobility with his base stats and abilities, he is typically most worried about being locked down and chainstunned or building stats to make up for his low strength. Havoc relies heavily on building momentum and suffers greatly when he is interrupted.

Primary Abilities

Q
Storm Cutter

Havoc infuses his body with the swiftness and raw power of lightning, gaining status resistance and greatly increased movement speed for a short duration. If Havoc attacks an enemy while affected by Storm Cutter, Storm Cutter ends and the attack briefly stuns and deals damage in an area based on the distance Havoc moved since the cast. Attacks made while affected by Storm Cutter have true strike. Storm Cutter has 2 charges.

You think you can outrun lightning?
Ignores Linken's Sphere.
Damage is calculated by distance moved from the cast point.
When the ability is recast, the damage resets and starts at Havoc's current location.
Blink, Force Staff, and other mobility items or spells will count for distance moved.
Scroll of Town Portal, Recall, and Holy Persuasion will not count for distance moved.
The Storm Cutter buff cannot be dispelled, but the stun can be dispelled by strong dispels.

W
MAGNETIC CHARGE

When Havoc hits an enemy with an attack or ability, he places a charge on them. If Havoc is currently positively charged, all charged units in range are slowly pushed away from him. If Havoc is currently negatively charged, all charged units in range are slowly pulled towards him. Upon activation, Havoc switches between positive and negative charges, deals damage to charged units, and amplifies the pull/push briefly.

You ain't goin' nowhere.
Item damage will not charge enemies.
Unlike other forced mobility, units are not disabled at all while being pushed/pulled.
Affected units are moved 2/3/4/5 (20/30/40/50) units towards/away from Havoc's location every 0.1 seconds.
Break will prevent Havoc from applying charges and disable the passive push/pull but does not remove active charges or affect the the push/pull from the active.
The active portion of this ability will apply the passive portion.

E
Crackling Blade

When Havoc attacks a hero, he steals damage from them. Stacks indefinitely. When Havoc successfully hits a hero and gains a stack, the duration of all his stacks is reset to 5, as well as the stacks on enemy heroes within the radius. Break prevents gaining more stacks, but does not remove the effect of current stacks.

Ultimate Abilities

R
Gathering Storm

Creates a ball of lightning at the targeted location. While enemies stand near the ball, they are slowed. When Havoc attacks while near the ball, lightning arcs from his sword to the ball, damaging all enemies between his target and the ball based on their current hp. Every time lightning arcs to the ball, it gains power, increasing the arc damage. After 10 arcs, the ball reaches full power. After 1.5 seconds of full charge, the ball explodes, dealing damage in the radius and granting Havoc greatly increased move speed that decays over the duration.

Havoc has had to adjust to the smell of scorched flesh, because it seems to constantly be the result of his power.
Movement speed decays linearly over the duration.
Attacks made during the delay before the ball explodes will cause arcs but not charge the ball further than 10 charges.
Illusions of Havoc will cause arc animations but not do damage or charge the ball.
If the duration ends before Havoc fully charges the ball, it does not deal damage or grant movement speed.
If Havoc attacks an enemy outside the radius, no arc will occur and the ball will not charge.
The first arc will deal 30/40/50 damage (+ %hp damage), the second will deal 40/55/70 damage, and so on. The tenth arc will deal 130/190/250 damage.
If Havoc uses refresher orb or refresher shard to have multiple balls, all aspects will stack.

Aghanim's Scepter
Cooldown Reduced to 40.
Current HP% damage changed to max HP% damage.
Ball will follow Havoc so that he is never more than 600 units away.

LORE

As a young boy, Havoc was always running around causing chaos. A real troublemaker from an early age, he just wanted to be free and not have people trying to show their authority over him or restrict him. Tired of the rules and customs in his hometown, he set out at only 14, travelling to more populated areas, stealing himself food and clothes along the way.

A few years later as he passed through Elze, he saw a magic sword in a high-end magic weapons shop. Something about the sword called to him, felt similar to himself. After hanging around for a bit, he overheard the shopkeeper say he couldn't sell the sword despite its great power because no one could control it. Havoc knew this shopkeeper was a fool. This sword wasn't meant to be controlled. It wanted to let loose, to show what it could do. And he wanted to to let it. He knew it wanted him to help. He waited until the shopkeeper went into the back room and ran into the shop.

After a failed burglary attempt, Havoc was being taken away to have his hands cut off for thievery. The sword tugged at the edge of his consciousness. He couldn't control it, didn't want to, but maybe he could help it show what it could do. AS the guard dragged Havoc through the street, dark clouds gathered overhead. Barely a minute later, the sky was smothered in black clouds. Havoc felt the energy of the sword building up, asking for direction, and Havoc directed it. A massive bolt of lightning turned the guard from a man into toast. Havoc ran back into the store and grabbed the sword. He didn't care about anything but how he could let that power loose.

Appearance

In-game Havoc appears as a fairly average sized human male in his 20s or 30s with light armor and a long sword. He displays an active nature and is fidgeting or seeming bored and restless when standing still or slowly CSing, and this would be reflected in his voice lines and animations where he would swing his limbs around idly or play with lightning around his fingers or make shapes with it. By contrast when in motion he is cheerful and focused, displaying joy and laughter when racing along and commenting on the fun he has when running down enemies and letting loose on them, and his lightning would fly around behind him.

Havoc's sword is surrounded by subtle lightning effects that turn from small to large and chaotic as he uses his abilities, his sword glowing brighter as he builds up Crackling Blade stacks and surrounding himself in waves of energy as he sends waves to affect enemies with Magnetic Charge. When affected by Storm Cutter and Gathering Storm, the lightning around him makes him feel energized, causing him to jump or spin to display his agility.

Starting Items

Early Game

  • Magic Stick and Magic Wand give Havoc burst restoration for sticky situations.
  • Boots of Speed allows Storm Cutter to function at full power and allows Havoc to catch up to enemies to apply Magnetic Charge or Crackling Blade.
  • Ring of Aquila provides cheap attributes and mana regeneration to let Havoc use his spells more liberally.

Mid Game

  • Phase Boots can be used to increase the power of Storm Cutter or to increase mobility in Storm Cutter's downtime.
  • Power Treads can greatly increase Havoc's damage output with Crackling Blade and Gathering Storm and the ability to switch to appropriate attributes for survival, damage, or mana.
  • Sange and Yasha can provide much needed stats to beef up for fights and greatly increase the mobility difference between Havoc and his foes.
  • Aeon Disk's status resistance can be incredibly powerful when combined with Storm Cutter's status resistance, and prevent the squishy Havoc from being bursted easily.

Late Game

  • Eye of Skadi and Abyssal Blade increase Havoc's durability and help him stick to his enemies to build up his damage and fulfill a dps role.
  • Black King Bar mitigates Havoc's weakness to disables, allowing him to build up massive damage with Crackling Blade or Gathering Storm during its duration.
