I will try Glimmer Cape.

Though all your builds are set to Lvl 1 Skill Headshot.
I insist that it should be Shrapnel.
Shrapnel has 12 Damage Per Second vs 15 Damage 40% Chance.
It gives you a chance to kill in the Rune War. also it has 3 charges.

For Skill Build
lvl 1 Shrapnel,
Lvl 2 Headshot,
Lvl 3 Headshot,
Lvl 4 Take Aim,
Lvl 5 Headshot
Lvl 6 Assasinate,
Lvl 7 Headshot (Maxed)
Lvl 8 Take Aim
Lvl 9 Take Aim
Lvl 10 Take Aim / Shrapnel

Lvl 1 Shrapnel then Max Headshot First, then Take Aim, Then Max out Shrapnel
Because Shrapnel is not effective at Slowing and Dealing Damage.
Lvl 1 for 15% Slow is Enough which deals 120 damage if calculated.

Also try using this Early Item Build.
Tango, Orb of Venom and 3 Faerie Fire ^_^
this will make your starting money exactly Zero

Faerie Fire is really a good item.

Also Maelstrom then Manta first for higher survivability and the Headshot of illusions will Trigger.

I'm currently looking into Basher because it Stacks and higher life of course.

This may sound awkward but try building Sniper with Soul Ring.
You can Spam their Supports with Assasinate and you will have the right amount of life regen you need not resulting to Mask of Madness which is ineffective to sniper due to Low Damage.

Glimmer Cape gives decent initiation and escape I suppose. But wouldnt that moon shard be better used for a Silver Edge? Honestly think about it. the break is insane on Sniper with his long range. So now previous counters such as Enchantress and Faceless Void now have their passives disabled. Insane. Maybe glimmer can be disassembled later on, then you sell the hood and build a Silver Edge?

I wasn't considering Silver Edge's Break ability when I wrote this guide. It really is quite strong against Enchantress, Faceless Void and hell it makes Phantom Assassin completely useless for 5 seconds! Also the slow stacks completely with the greater main from Sange and Yasha and the lesser main from Heaven's Halberd.
The idea behind making glimmer cape the core item was to survive the early game ganks by nukers since its significantly cheaper and the active's 66% magic resistance. Like you said we can disassemble it later in the game for Silver Edge. I will be sure add it in the guide later on. Thank you!

Headshot stacks perfectly with Monkey King Bar. Headshot is not a bash, it's a slow.

Besides...Dota wiki is very clear : "Multiple sources of Bash do not stack. Heroes with a bash ability cannot purchase items which provide a bash for this reason. The only exception here is the mini-bash from Monkey King Bar, which fully stacks with all other bashes, and even with multiple Monkey King Bars. "

And Glimmer Cape...this item is widely considered imbalanced so you can expect it to get changed a lot in the near future. So wait and see for the next update patches, no point in arguing over it at the moment.

I guess you are right xD sorry for all the unecessary confusion. I will later update the guide to add mkb in the core items. Thank you.
((I hope they dont nerf glimmer though, love this new item. Not for the invi but for its insane damage resistance xD))

Honestly, I am glad that 6.84 is the downfall of sniper. HO HO HA HA was getting a bit annoying whenever I wanted to play a mid that has a lower attack range. Storm Spirit gets picked apart by sniper in the early game, but once he hits 6, the Sniper better watch out. I play a lot of Storm Spirit, so this is a welcome change to me. Being able to go up and lasthit without being wrecked by IMBA shrapnel and rightclicks is nice. Sniper is actually in a good pace right now. Not OP, but still not bad. Besides, people are never going to stop playing him, no matter how much nerfs he gets. At least now the first pick snipers can't outlane every mid hero exept for Queen of Pain by just hitting Q and rightclicking them.

Although Glimmer is IMBA, I don't exactly think that the item is the best on Sniper, due to not providing an escape, and not giving much DPS at all. Invisibility is not invincibility.

Here we go then.

Firstly, Sniper is a long-range right-clicker with low mobility and his extremely squishy. So, what do we build on him? Items that gives mobility ( Mask of Madness, Manta Style, Sange and Yasha, Blink Dagger - sometimes Phase Boots) and items that make him tankier ( Black King Bar, Eye of Skadi, Power Treads, later Satanic) with some items that boost his decent right-click damage (MKB, Daedalus, Maelstrom, Desolator).

If you were watching the pro-scene, you would notice that his usual build is
Ring of Aquila -> Phase Boots (for mobility and early agression) -> Mask of Madness (the most cost-efficient item to farm and move around the map) -> Blink Dagger / Black King Bar / Sange and Yasha (Always BKB, but the item sequence depending on situation) -> Maelstrom / Manta Style / Eye of Skadi.

No invis. No ****ty escape item as Shadow Blade or now, Glimmer Cape. A Dust of Appearance, a well placed Sentry Ward and you are dead. These items aren't made to escape, for God's sake, they are to initiate. If Sniper is going to initiate, he uses Shrapnel. No needs for invis. If don't want to be caught, learn to position yourself. The only real escape item that exist in this game is Force Staff.

And seriously, do I need to argue about Headshot first? Is the worst skill of Sniper, since it no longer mini-stuns and even miss now. The chance is 40% at all levels. For you to be more effective, Shrapnel and Take Aim should be maxed way earlier than Headshot - you get a effective AoE slow for teamfights and long attack range. And, for your information, MKB and Headshot can proc at the same time! So, don't say things like that in a good site like this.

That's all by now.

You should read more here.
Since valve doesn't explicitly clarify whether headshot is a bash or not anymore I can't be sure but since valve doesn't recommend mkb on sniper and lately I haven't seen any Sniper with MKB in pro games I figured it is still classified as a bash.
Ofcourse I could be wrong.

As for maxing headshot first, Sniper has an awfully ****ty damage early game and a maxed headshot provides an impressive 90 damage with 40% proc chance. Not to mention the 150 attack slow and 100 movement slow.
You could max shrapnel first but its damage and slow is only really useful in team fights which you rarely get in the first 15 minutes (atleast in pub games). In lane its quite easy to avoid though annoying as hell yes. And with one point in take aim you pretty much out range all heroes except lina and Techies. So putting more points in it before headshot is not something i can agree with.

And I already put my point about phase boots, manta and MoM in the guide. It all comes down to personal preferance.

Lol Sniper got nerfed so hard.

Glimmer cape gets rekt by dust, same as Shadowblade, btw.

Consider Octarine Core, for CD reduction and lifesteal on ultimate.
