Is Mekansm a good survivability item? If you get RoA or maybe even a Bottle (because you do move around the map alot when farming) you will maybe be able to have enough mana to use Haunt, Spectral Dagger and Mekansm.

And for farming items, how about a Maelstrom? It is cheap and increases your attack speed. You can upgrade it into a Mjollnir later, and it increases your attack speed even more and you get a active that makes it much harder to kill you because now they have a 20% chance take 200 magic damage every time they hit you + Dispersion damage.
Hero DPS and EHP Spreadsheet coming soon.

Mekansm + Point Booster is the build you're looking for. Yes, it's perfectly viable. PB because Spec needs the 175 mana to have a big enough mana pool to use haunt, dagger and mek in one teamfight.
Build into manta/skadi.

Bottle is not a good item on carries, ever. Especially not on Spectre since mana regen is wasted on her. And Ring of Aquila is terrible on Spec, because mana regen is completely irrelevant on her. Spec never uses her skills outside of teamfights. Want to regen mana before a teamfight? TP to base, and Haunt into the teamfight. Only mana pool matters on the hero.

The thing about Mjollnir is, the shield active is great on Spectre, but the item itself isn't. The best would be to have an other hero on your team like Nature's Prophet that buys a Mjollnir and casts it on you.

You can go Mask of Madness + Maelstrom for the ultra fast farm speed. But I sill think MoM+yasha for example is good enough farm speed on its own and it transitions way better.

When should you go for a Radiance build? I rarely do it because I think that its not effective enough. It costs ~5k gold and while it does boost your farming speed, it doesn't boost it that much imo (once you get manta it does boost your farming speed alot though). And you're just too weak during the first 22 minutes of the game if you decide to get it. Once you get it, you're a bit too squishy being a carry without any reliable escapes. This means that you usually have to get a Manta and a Skadi/Heart before being able to fight enemy carries. You do farm fast once you get the manta though. Is it good if the enemy has a squishy team maybe?

The only downside of radiance is that you're useless for the first 20 minutes of the game. If you can get past that, it's always good.

Being squishy is not an issue because you only commit on sure kills. Pressing R alone is a good contribution to a teamfight, you can play ultra safe and still have high impact.
