Why don't people build this instead of drums or vanguard on Spectre? She needs an early-mid game survivability item, and people usually get drums or Vanguard. Drums got changed and now drums are sh!t. Vanguard is a cheap and good survivability item on her, but a Sange into a Heaven's Halberd could be much better imo.

Vanguard:

Increases health regen by 8
Gives you 250 health
Decreases damage taken from creeps

Heaven's Halberd:

Gives you 380 health Forgot that this was changed. It is now 400 health.
Gives you 0,6 health regen
Gives you 25 attack damage
Increases your EHP by 25% (although you don't need this)
Gives you a passive slow
Gives you a great disarm
Can be disassembled.

HH costs more, but is much more worth it imo. And you can disassemble it to get the Talisman of Evasion and build it into a Butterfly. What do you think?
Hero DPS and EHP Spreadsheet coming soon.

If I recall correctly...

Evaded attacks do not proc Dispersion.
Dispersion procs BEFORE damage block.

So, damage block synergizes much more with Dispersion than evasion.

Hope that answers your question :)

^ this

Just like Bristleback, Dispersion has a really good synergy with damage block, but has no synergy with evasion whatsoever. It has also a good synergy with armor, which makes Crimson Guard a great first item on Spec.
Personally I consider Spectre and Bristleback the best crimson guard buyers in the game.

Heaven's Halberd is a good situational item on Spec, but rushing it as a first item doesn't make much sense. The point of it is to counter ranged right-clicks, which aren't that relevant in the first 20 minutes of the game.

Drums is horrible on Spec now. It's literally just a 1800 gold Bracer. The item is just bad in this meta overall, because it's completely outclassed by better early stat items like helm, veil, blademail, urn etc. Seriously just compare drum and Urn of Shadows. Urn is strictly a better item now.

The sick new meta build on Spec is Mask of Madness. Try it out, it's legit as hell.

Is SnY good? Sange is one of the best early game survivability items and you can disassemble the SnY to get Manta Style later. I usually get a Yasha anyway before diffusal.

And what items do you get in the MoM build? Crimson Guard -> Diffusal Blade -> Yasha -> Mask of Madness -> Manta Style -> Heart of Tarrasque?

It's viable, but not optimal.
Yes, you can rush a Sange and Yasha and just after disassemble it into manta + halberd.
But rushing a Manta Style is better. Manta on Spec is really that good.

Not Crimson. Crimson is a rush it or skip it item.

just get the best item in the game :)

the more the better.

How about Echo Sabre? It gives you health and attack speed (and you really want that) and every 5 seconds you have a 130 pure damage attack (because of Desolate) that slows the enemy. It doesn't cost much more than a Vanguard and it gives you 190 health. It doesn't give you any damage block though, but the double attacks are very good because her main source of single target damage is Desolate.

No. I get where you're coming from, but bad idea.

The niche of Echo Sabre is really the mana regen. Mana regen is completely wasted on Spectre.

If you just want a damage/stat item, there are better options.

The +65 pure damage every 5 second is really weak. Just compare with Manta Style : +130 pure damage every ~0.7 second!

If you want to maximize damage, rush a manta. Urn of Shadows + Yasha or Point Booster + Yasha gives similar stats to Echo sabre with free movement speed on top and without the useless Oblivion Staff.

I tried the Echo Sabre in a bot game and I noticed that the +10 STR doesn't make you tanky enough. It's good for killing fleeing enemies but I think that Orb of Venom and double Bracers could be better. Double Bracers + OOV costs only 1285 gold while giving you tons of nice stats.

The patented Singsing build. Orb of aids and mass bracers :)

I would only consider Bristle as Spectre would always go for Abyssal, the item is very good if you want to **** up a bkb activing with Haunt.

But i can find other heroes who are far better with Crimson. What about a meta with Lich Treant Protector and Ogre Magi to make mega towers, the only itens they would need are Tps and Crimson Guard as it buff towers (maybe -Armor itens or Bloodthorn), but anyway we would need another thread to discuss it :0).
