Sorry, I wasn't being clear enough either - Huskar owns Pudge up to level 6, 1 point in Burning Spear will do it - it's not so much the damage as the intimidation and the lack of creep aggro. You can harass him away from the creeps easily, he can't farm, you get to fill your boots. His only option is to try and hook u next to the tower, so don't give him the chance.

This is well known counter, and it works - you're tanky enough to stand up to him and can out harass him. Same goes for heroes like Night Stalker. Pudge can cause you problems once you both hit level 6, as you say the old Meat Hook + Dismember combo does for most people. If you've had good farm up to this point though, you can often ride out the stun, get your heal on, and get away from him. But yeah, Life Break on him is a terrible idea, he's got good magic resistance and you're giving him every chance to combo you.

Lifestealer is well worth a mention as a counter btw, as is Necrolyte...

Oh ****,I forgot about Omniknight. Thanks for the suggestion!

Overall nicely written guide, different style from how I play Huskar but not invalid. Few things though; you own Pudge in an early mid lane battle, get a point in Burning Spear and you can harass the **** outta him (inflicts about twice as much damage to him as you, and doesn't draw creep aggro) - just don't try Life Break on him or bad things will happen!

Would also suggest you go with a double Gauntlet of Strength start instead of branches if you're going Urn of Shadows, and maybe have a look at Armlet of Mordiggian, and some lifesteal...

Thanks for the commenting and for the suggestion of alternative items. For the Pudge explanation of why he counters Huskar is when Pudge uses his hook+rot+ dismember combo early in-game.I wasn't being descriptive on why Pudge counters Huskar, so therefore I apologize.I also don't tend to choose Burning Spear because of the health drain that resides from it. Phase Boots attack bonus substitutes the damage bonus from Burning Spear.I would defiantly pick at least two levels of Burning Spear early game to harass a hero who attempts to harass me as well,or playing against a carry and baby sitter in lane.I also listed Helm of dominator in the situation section. Otherwise, thanks for the help!
