So I did quite a few Winter Wyvern games in the Test, and I had a build which deviated quite a bit from the suggested items. For those of you that have played her, please give me your thoughts.

I went mid Wyvern and purchased;

Null Talisman --> Boots of Speed --> Urn of Shadows --> Tranquil Boots --> Shiva's Guard --> Dagon

As for skills I maxed {Q} first, and got ulti at level 8. Thoughts? I thought it went pretty well. I did ganks once I had the ulti and the Urn helped me get lots of kills, especially on invis heroes.

It's a support, you'll never get that much off. Never max E first(since it's useless early, is scales well into late game), just get that value point, max W and Q.

She's really good in ganks at night time thanks to Q, and smoke ganks as well.

I really don't think her Q is useless early, it's a strong laning skill for harassment and slowing. And it scales extremely well with levels because of the cooldown reduction.

For items, she looks essentially item independent so she's meant to be played as a support. She doesn't look like a combo nuker so dagon sounds pretty bad.

Force Staff looks pretty core though. Use Cold Embrace on an ally and forcestaff him out. Or use it on an enemy to set up good ultimates.

Okay, so if not for Dagon, are you fine with the rest of the build? Also, do you think taking mid is appropriate in most situations for WW? I'm trying to get as much info on how to play her before people learn how to counter her hehe.

Why would you ever play an item independent hero as a solo mid? Mid is for heroes who need farm.

And the fact that she has a native farming skill with Splinter Blast means that there is really zero benefit in going mid with her since 1) she doesn't need any items and 2) she'll get tons of farm anyways as a support by spamming down creep waves.

i played her mid for a moment, as i do with all heroes. :P
and she is a support for sure, she is item independant, has no obvious synergy with items, so any utility seems good on her.
im not sure if she needs arcanes yet, probably not with that high int growth but the ultimate costs quite a bit.

seems like a REALLY strong laner with Q. and good in early fights with W. her ultimate sounds broken at first like with all new heroes, but the duration isnt insanely long, and it has decently high cooldowns and manacost.

Her ult has a very small AOE. Seems really hard to land if the enemy team isn't clumping up around their carry like a bunch of noobs :)

Arcanes sounds like the only boots that make sense. She's very mana intensive especially with W and she has a heal so tranquils are useless. Soul Ring sounds really nice to spam W and E as well.

I think Tranquils are much better boots on WW for survivability. WW has incredible Int gain an mana regen, and I didn't even find it necessary to get a magic wand if i got tranquils.

As for the ulti, early game, casting it while a hero is near friendly creeps can be just as deadly depending on their armor, then cast W on one of the creeps while right-clicking with Q. Urn finishes.

I'd rather get better mana items than Urn of Shadows and spam Cold Embrace and Splinter Blast.
