Sooo, it's been a few days. Everyone has had a chance to at least play some bot games with Oracle to see what all the hype is about. My question is, "How have you been using the hero?"

Hailed as the "King of Supports" before he was fully introduced, I've found that he's really only kinda OK in that role. I think that playing him as an early mek holder with a lot of kill potential {like Viper or Razor in the mid lane is the way to go. Fast lvl 7 for maxed Purifying Flames and your ult means you can go to any lane and just wreak havoc.

He's still a decent support, but I'd rather play one like Dazzle whose skills don't all have a catch to using them. The ult is pure utility, and can be used as a support for your carry, or on yourself when semi-carrying.

I typically go Bottle -> Power Treads -> Mekansm/ Orchid Malevolence and then pick up things like Eye of Skadi and Scythe of Vyse in the late game. Also a Blink Dagger somewhere in there.

What about you guys?

For me he's a greedy support like Dazzle, Warlock or Kapparition and he needs a way to get quick levels.

He's essentially item-independent, the only thing he really needs is mana regen and Arcane Boots + Soul Ring is generally enough as far as mana goes. Soul ring is great to spam heals on teammates.

He plays as a lane support until he gets to level 5 or level 7. Pull a lot to get that early arcs/soul ring it's important. And when he has max Purifying Flames he instantly becomes one of the best roamers in the game and he should gank, gank and gank non stop.

Late game he's kind of a walking ult, mainly initiator/counterinitiator role. He's pretty good late game, but he doesn't deal any damage anymore : he's essentially a buffing machine.

Sap all the XP you can, get to level 7, and you have about 15 minutes to start killing everything that moves before they get too tanky. After that you go back to being a hard support walking ult for your main damage dealer.

He is technically a very strong solo mid but the thing is, mid oracle means right-click carry oracle there's no other way. Right-click is the only way he can deal any damage in late game.

I tried him as a mid 1v1 vs one of my teammates.

I won. His disarm also makes your autoattacks do 50% more damage, and that lets him harass almost as well as viper, but with a slightly longer range.

His disarm + heal self combo gives him great sustain, and the E -> quick Q combo does good damage.

When fighting, just ult yourself, use E on yourself for DOUBLE HEAL and proceed to make them go boom.

Was fun.

Yeah, but right-click Oracle isn't bad at all. He has really good attack speed and with a good UAM like Skadi and some damage from a Daedelus, he can really put out a ton of damage. Especially when he has invulnerability.

OHHHKAAAYYY A'Ere'WEGOOOO

i did have a 74% win rate with Oracle but now its 55% :( (sad times when people have no idea how to play with him)

you have many ways to build him

dual lane safelane or aggro trilane or mid

are all good.

my success is in a dual lane with a high base damage hero. i put a point in Fate's Edict the 50% extra damage is ... amazing early game. combine that with his super high range and ur laughing.

hes amazing in a kill lane aggro tri. 2.5 second pause lvl one ... awesome.

you can go dagon but honestly dont unless ur snowballing.

build soul ring. u need it. build euls and mek he is an amzing mek carrier ... honestly ... DOUBLE THE HEALING BOIZ. urn is pretty amazing on him as well. build him as a utility support. stacking all the actives make all the auras.

in mid you want phase bottle null into orchid into scythe into a/c. if your going mid you might as well carry. otherwise you will be useless late game without your ult.

but my favourite way to play him .... White Knight.

the epic saves you can do .... jesus

i once tp'd into lane as my PA was getting buttraped and i ult'd him on 6hp .... 6 hp ... pop'd fates and purfying and then mek'd and pop'd a urn charge on her. while getting killed myself i died but she reappeared at full hp 2 seconds later and got an ultra kill ....

Oracle to the rescue!!!

I never build Soul Ring on Oracle, but still have 80+ % winrate on him in 13 games. I play him mostly as support. You conveniently zone most offlaners out just by being there and being a threat.
Depending on how much farm I can get I either rush Mekansm after Boots of Speed then a Eul's Scepter of Divinity or if the farm is really good a Orchid Malevolence or Scythe of Vyse.
If my farm is not so great I go Urn of Shadows after Boots of Speed then mostly Eul's Scepter of Divinity and either Boots of Travel or Tranquil Boots depending on the situation.

I find him to be xtremely strong in a trilane with 2 stunners, but also just a duallane with Drow Ranger is very deadly.

The one time I plyed him mid to eat some Sniper I went Bottle Phase Boots Orchid Malevolence and it went pretty good ( Sniper was bad). I thought about Power Treads, but decided to go for more mobility since I wouldn't build a Eul's Scepter of Divinity and the damage helps with lasthitting early game.

If you are trolling sure go mid.
My honest opinion is that aside from his fortunes end he has no cc until level 6, SCRATCH THAT HE HAS NO CC ASIDE FROM fortunes end . Now you wiuld say he has disarm, but that is a double edged sword. 100% magic resist, you really need coordination to kill a guy with him. And if they catch you with edict on your mate, and the enemy has some crowd control he is practically Daed.
And his e-q combo relies on Oracle being fast enough to use his q after Purifying Flames. Point to note here are the range of his skills., they are in increasing order from his q to e. Which means sometimes the range you used his e skill, you won't be able to follow up with his q. Result: you end up healing the bastard.

Now about his ulti; m sure its good. However, most of the players arent aware that you are invisible! They dont know how False Promise works!
I do it on a magnus tell him to go skewer some people to our tower and he calls me idiot! TALK ABOUT THAT. JEEZ, PUBS MAN.

To conclude : ****ty support, situationally can semi support with gpod6 rightclickers in mid game. I wold never first pick him like the idots are doing in all pick right now. But hey, thats just my opinion.
Go On, Feed Me.

So basically, Oracle requires a lot of teamwork, but can be deadly once that is achieved.
