You can't take any damage from the Ice Blast but you still take the debuff, and shatter if you under the threshold.

Also Dazzle Oracle sounds like a really bad support duo. There isn't thaaat much synergy between the two of them. The lack of stuns hurt, but that's not a reason not to run a support duo by itself.

If you want Oracle synergy, go something like Undying. Massive heals with Soul Rip, lots of damage amplification, a Stop that gives Tombstone more chances to spawn stuff, a disarm to again protect Tombstone, And it lets your support duo still provide a lot of pressure despite having one pretty passive hero.

Oracle and Dazzle are definitely very similar heroes, but they don't especially combo with each other. They do essentially the same thing : prevent a carry from dying for a period of time. Of course if you Shallow Grave a carry and then False Promise him (or the other way), he won't be dying for a longer time, but that's really all the synergy there is to it.

Besides, if your two supports are Oracle and Dazzle, you're literally playing no stun dota.
Generally you expect your supports to provide lockdown. That's why there's a Winter Wyvern and a Lion in literally evey game these days.
If they don't...someone's just going to pick Anti-Mage or Storm Spirit and the game's over.

Shadow Wave is hardly a heal at all. It heals for 140 which is pitiful, the only use of this skill is as a nuke. Making it heal for double the amount does nothing.

The only lineup where Oracle + Dazzle would make sense would be in a full push lineup with e.g a Huskar. But you need to end the game early and constantly apply tower pressure otherwise you get ratted to death because you have zero catch.

P.S : Ice Blast DOES shatter through False Promise.
WIki : "Does not prevent instantly killing effects like Culling Blade, Suicide Squad, Attack!, Bloodstone or Ice Blast shatter.

im pretty sure it doesnt. the only skills to go through false and shallow is culling blade. shatter will only occur if the debuff is still active after shallow grave wears off.

for false promise the damage is taken but as long as you magic immune yourself im pretty sure the shatter damage is taken??? though not 100% on that.

Seems like a pretty good combo. Maybe a 4 oracle and 5 dazzle would be better.

Edit: what about shatter from ice blast. Will that cause death? As its similar to culling blade, giving instadeath below a certain threshold of HP.

Since we're talking about that combination, do you think Oracle+ Dazzle would ever be a deadly combination? I know that they're both used as position 5, but is there a way to make it work? Considering the heal from Shadow Wave combined with Purifying Flames are really strong if combined with False Promise's double heal, in addition to the combination up there. Let's also not forget the 50% amplification to physical from Fate's Edict, which boost all damage from Dazzle.

So.... Double position 5? Position 4 oracle/dazzle? Or even position 2 oracle/dazzle?

While we are there, am I the only one thinking oracle is A LOT like dazzle? I mean: 1 semi-disable skill ( Fortune's End and Poison Touch), 1 healing skill ( Shadow Wave and Purifying Flames), 1 supportive-sustain skill ( Shallow Grave and False Promise), and 1 utility skill (weave and Fate's Edict).

not really :P he used in in conjunction with Axe so i think he means techies can kill you through it which is incorrect.

yes dazzles shallow grave prevents all damage for the duration so it does prevent the damage of false promise. and techies does nothing to either of them.

the only hero to deal with it would be AXE! glhf

Does Shallow Grave prevent the ally hero from dying after False Promise ends?
If so, Dazzle+Oracle can give their hard carry 13 minutes of immortality after he gets low on life. Unless there is a Axe or Techies on the other side.

It would be great to do it with a Huskar for example.
