Fortune's End itself is a non-ultimate magical ability (based on Channel), so it won't be able to target magic immune units, and if the unit you have targeted is magic immune either at the moment you try to order the spell, at the moment the Oracle starts casting Fortune's End, or the moment he reaches his cast point, casting will be unsuccessful. That applies even to Repel.

However, if you do successfully cast Fortune's End on a unit, enemies in an AoE will get damaged and purged. That purge will work on Repeled units and remove Repel. That means if you cast Fortune's End on a target next to a unit with Repel, you can remove it that way.

So two interesting facts:
1. You can cast Fortune's End directly on ancients (as long as they aren't magic immune), but they will not be affected.
2. You cannot cast Fortune's End directly on units with the Repel buff, but you can affect them on the side and remove it that way.

Note that the purge occurs before the damage, so in the case of Repel being removed by a unit in the AoE of Fortune's End, it will also receive the damage normally.

Fortune's End isn't based on Purge; it's based on Channel. It has almost all units as valid targets (but no structures, wards, or magic immune units). After you finish casting Fortune's End, a trigger deals magic damage and creates a dummy unit to cast a Purge with the appropriate level on every valid target in the AoE. Diffusal Blade is a hardcoded Purge. Fortune's End is triggered.

I still don't really get the point of this skill...kind of feels like an underpowered version of Homing Missile.

I mean, sure it dispels Purifying Flames, but as a "stun" it just doesn't feel that effective if you have to channel it for 3 seconds.

Maybe use it in lane after a setup stun from a teammate? But after? Doesn't feel very useful for teamfighting or chasing...

Actually in Dota 2 Fortune's End sets the MS to 0 instead of disabling it.

You don't have to channel for the full 3 seconds, you can simply cast and immediately release for just the damage and purge.

+rep to F. E. A. R. 0

Atleast now players can contemplate on playing oracle the proper way and how hes not so broken as they think.

After seeing the guides uploaded here i was perplexed as to how would repel be purged off; or how he's the bane of warlock carries. This makes better sense.

I know, but then it's pretty much "It's like Storm Hammer except that it doesn't stun". That's why the skill feels very weak to me.

Having a purge on hand may sound great because it's rare but let's be honest here what useful stuff does a purge that only works on enemies dispel?

- Ghost Scepter
- Ursa's skills
- Broodmother's ult
- Satanic
- Empower
- Surge
- Flame Guard
- ice armor
- some niche stuff like haste runes

And that's it really. I just went through the wiki http://dota2.gamepedia.com/Dispel#List_of_abilities_that_can_be_removed_by_normal_dispels
Feels very disappointing.

As said it's essentially useless against Omniknight and Warlock. You can't cast it on allies so you can't purge Hex, Dust of Appearance and similar.

well you can also use it to put 630 magic damage into someone, and another 360 3 seconds later.

use Q>use E before Q's projectile hits>wait 3 sec>use E again= ez 960 magic damage in just over 3 seconds if you can kill him before he heals too much from the flames.

@f.e.a.r. i had my doubts about you when i first joined dotafire with all the stuff about rightclick veno and stuff but you really stepped up your game. :P
good job with all the threads man!

Yeah...kind of...except that this combo is honestly completely impossible to land without a setup stun. When they see you channeling your obvious glowing red ball they'll just walk away. And the purge will only hit the hero when he's close to his tower.

I feel it's best used with a setup stun the same way as Cold Feet.

- Naga Siren uses Ensnare
- Purifying Flames
- Start channeling Fortune's End
- Purifying Flames before the purge hits
- enemy is paused for 2.9 seconds
- Purifying Flames to "secure" the kill Kappa

Total damage : 3*360 + 300 = a lot :)

Not if you use False Promise on yourself first :P.
