Legion Commander is a flexible hero who is capable to play in any role, a Core, a Jungler, Mid hero and maybe even a support!. Her second skill and third skill Press the Attack and Moment of Courage makes Legion Commander a good jungler. When level 6, Legion Commander can start to snowball out of control with her ultimate Duel.
They came without warning. Within the city walls of Stonehall there came a rumble and a terrible sound, and from blackness unknown came a force of beasts numbering beyond count, wielding flame and foul sorcery, slaying and snatching mothers and sons to dark purpose. Of once-mighty Stonehall's military strength only the Bronze Legion, led by the indomitable Commander Tresdin, was near enough to answer the call of battle. They rode into their city, fighting through bloodstained alleyways and burning markets, cutting their way through the monstrous throng to the source of the sudden invasion: an ethereal rift within the city square, and at its precipice thundered their dreaded champion.
Enwrapped in a corrosive shimmer, the leader of the abyssal horde swung its massive blade, cleaving a legionnaire in two as his flesh began to spoil. Tresdin lifted her blood-stained sword and settled her sights on the beast. It turned, smiling at her through a maze of teeth. Heedless of the battle raging around them, they charged one another.
Deflecting blow after blow, the pair danced their deadly duel as the Bronze Legion met its end around them. Tresdin leapt forward as her foe swung its sword to meet her. The odds turned. The attack smashed into Tresdin suddenly, a brutal thrust from the side, but even as her balance slipped she rallied her strength for another stroke. Blade scraped on blade, beyond the hilt to the gnarled paw below, carving it in two in a fearsome spray of sparks and blood. The vile audience looked on in astonishment as she pressed the attack, driving her blade through her foe's flesh into the stampeding heart within. With a scream that split the clouds above, the beast erupted in a torrent of gore and anguish. The stygian portal wavered, the power sustaining the chasm beyond vanishing as suddenly as it had appeared. The remaining invaders fell quickly to Stonehall steel.
Though victorious, the survivors saw little to celebrate: the city lay in ruins, and survivors were few. Fires continued to spread. Unfurling her banners of war, Tresdin gathered what allies she could. Her anger smoldered as she pledged brutal vengeance upon the forces of the abyss, and damned be any who would dare stand in her way.
-Very flexible in terms of role (Core,Jungler, etc.)
-Good base speed
- Duel is awesome and makes her snowball hard.
An awesome nuke which deals more damage when there are more enemies in the AOE of the nuke.
Press The Attack
Another awesome skill that synergises with Duel. Removes all debuffs on you or your ally, gives 120 attack speed bonus and gives a 6hp/sec regen at max level for 5 seconds. This can be used to save yourself or your teammate or even to get back into a fight.
Moment Of Courage
When getting attacked, this passive can give Legion Commander another hit and a bonus 80% lifesteal at max level. So, it helps deal more damage and heals you, awesome right?
May be one of the best ultimates in the game. Period. When activated on a single enemy target, the two man fights, literally. When man-fighting,both heroes can't use their skills when in Duel. Whoever dies in the duration of the Duel will get free damage, the amount will vary from 10,14,18 extra damage.
A must for all melee heroes, without it, you can get harassed very easily. Blocks some damage dealt from enemy hits, helps alot in the early stages and can even safe your live.
Basic starting item. If your lane gets rough, Tangos can heal you up so you won't die.
Should be picked up for all farmers.Gives bonus damage to creeps, so last hitting will be made easier.
Power Treads gives more damage and HP which can benefit in Duels and makes things easier
Armlet of Mordiggian gives more Strength which gives more damage dealing Duels.
Blink Dagger can make Duels easier as you can Blink in front of behind them and Duel without the time for them to retreat.
Gives faster hits and deal more damage faster, can help in Duels and the lighting procs can help deal extra bit of damage.
Bashes can stun enemies and deal a tad more damage and help get more duels with the mini stun.
One of the most important core items for Legion Commander. This can prevent you getting disabled in fights and people will not interfere when Duelling.
Any hero with a stun or a disable is a friend of Legion Commander as these stuns can help to get a Duel or even make an enemy not able to attack when Duelling. Disables such as Lion's Hex, Chaos Knight's Chaos Bolt and Crystal Maiden's Frostbite are good disables that help Legion Commander
Stuns and Disables can be a bad thing if an enemy has it. Stuns and disables could make you not get your Duel damage and possibly lose the Duel and give free damage to the enemy. Also, passives such as Craggy Exterior, Time Lock, Bash and Greater Bash can work against Legion Commander as it these can react against him when getting attacked.
I think that Legion Commander is a hard carry and she should be played as one. She should be placed in the Safe Lane (Top in Dire side, Bottom in Radiant side). If there is another person taking up the Safe Lane, Legion Commander can also be played in the Offlane (Radiant top,Dire bottom), you can follow the same skill build, maybe with more regen and same skill build. If both are taken, she can also be played in the Jungle, (more below).
Her skills Press the Attack and Moment of Courage were made to make a Legion Commander a great jungler. The items do not change much when jungling with a Legion Commander, the only thing I get extra when jungling is a Hand of Midas.
Thanks for spending your time to read this guide to the one and only Legion Commander. I'm still new to this guide writing thing, thanks for the support and comment below for suggestions on what hero to do next and kind and helpful comments/criticism is much appreciated.
For the last time, thank you guys for reading the guide, and I'll see you next time :D
