The other reason you shouldn't buy is because the item sucks now. and still need it due to their extremely heavy mana expenses that no other item can cover, but everyone else you used to get it on it's not good enough anymore.

The nerfs of 6.85 were so brutal, you get worse respawn time, you can't use it to lower gold loss on yourself, you can't see where you died, and you can't get exp if you die. Plus, Medusa is one of a small handful of heroes that can't snowball on any level, so you can't get charges unless you're doing teamfights and your team has enough damage without you anyway. Like, you wouldn't buy Bloodstone on right?
