Hero Discussion: Puck

As most of you know, one of my absolute favourite heroes is Puck

I'd like for everyone to post their skill and item build, and 1-3 sentences about how they play.

Boots of Travel

Gameplay:

3 role, ganking mid.

I hardly ever play Puck ( ; _ ; )

mine is the same, i prefer scythe over aghs now because the deathball is pretty much dead so there is an increased importance to pick-off power.

hmmm ok then...

i prefer the 3 branches 2 shared tango's

and i never skill anything till im in lane ... even then i dont skill till level 2. unless something happens :/ u never know what u will need :P

if im against a melee dps ill go the max offensive build

4-4-1-1 by 10

you only need one point in phase to disjoint tower hits and most stuns and you need the burst.

if im up against a decent mid, Qop, dp, sf, aand the like ill go balanced.

4-2-3-1 by 10

this build allows you to be more survivable and the travel time is good better. also allows you to play a bit more aggressive against a mid like them.
(travel time meaning how far your orb can go before you come outa phase.)

up against a good counter like silencer or sky ill go defensive

1-4-4-1 by 10

longer silence is needed and the phase is needed for the counter.


so for most of my builds i then get
Bottle
Boots of Speed
Null Talisman
Magic Wand
Blink Dagger
Power Treads

these are usually my core by 14-16 minutes. with out dying.

then depending on what build im going i usually go

offensive: Dagon Scythe of Vyse Ethereal Blade

balanced: Eul's Scepter of Divinity Scythe of Vyse Shiva's Guard

defensive: Eul's Scepter of Divinity Force Staff Black King Bar Aghanim's Scepter

on puck i average about 60+ cs per 10. i wish i could get that with my other heroes :(

Enough off-topic, I understand a post or two, but it's already too much spam.

I'm going to start to ban people who constantly go off-topic, it's disruptive and low quality.

My usual starting item build when playing against a ranged mid is:
3x Iron Branch, Mantle of Intelligence, Tango, Healing Salve

Against melee replace salve with Circlet.

Against a really hard matchup like TA probably bottle rush for orb spam.

If the opponent has less regen or is melee, harass constantly. If you can't trade stay back and lasthit.

Skillbuild:

Usually 2-2-1-1 for earlier ganking and solo killing

4-1-1-1 against hard matchups for bottle crow orb spam.

Items:

Bottle (duh)

Eul's against silences

Aghs against mobile bkb targets

Hex for important slippery targets

W33fresher when one coil and one hex simply aren't enough

Shiva when enemy has lots of right click

Blink always. Always.

Force when you need to reposition your allies

ontopic: against certain matchups maxing silence is good actually. maybe go for like a 2-2-1-1 build.

call me a fool, but.. i find it hard to see much of Puck's potential. so, you are slippery, yes. but if he doesnt have enough damage or utility, how to use it? getting damage or lockdown items are important for puck for him to make use of his slipperiness.

thats why dagon and Scythe of Vyse.

Puck actually doesn't need Dagon to have burst.

He is an initiator that doesn't have to take risks himself.
