Played this game last night (Low priority...), it was a really good game, the fact all of our team had 20+ assists say's a lot i think. Great participation from everyone.
My first game with Earth Spirit that i am really pleased with how it went. Early doors i wasn't great at ganking, but i think i grew into it. And hopefully i'll just keep getting better!

I'm making this post because i would like a little advice on what i needed to do better early.
The lanes were:
Top: Slark vs Slardar
Mid: Puck vs Lycan (who went jungle pretty quick)
Bot: Medusa, Silencer, Earth Spirit vs Lifestealer, Jakiro
The Witch Doctor seemed to be roaming.

I planned on roaming a lot sooner, but they were pretty aggressive, so i stayed in lane a bit longer to try to help out our Medusa. The Lycan started roaming pretty early as well and we got in trouble a few times early on. Luckily the Slark was crushing top lane, so him and Puck were finding plenty of exp/gold. Medusa still got good farm, just not quite as good as it could have been.

I was concentrating on pulling and trying to keep lane pushed our way, and for the most part we were fighting under our tower, so i'm pretty happy with that. But i think i should have been more aggressive and tried to get a couple of kills on the Witch Doctor (when in lane) and Jakiro. The problem was the Lifestealer. As soon as i rolled into them he could Rage and Open Wounds and with Rolling Boulder on cooldown it would have been free food.

When i started to roam it got better, but it was more midgame at this point anyway and teamfights started pretty soon after. Teamfight's is where i am really pleased though. Especially later on we got our strategy sorted. Puck would Dream Coil and Waning Rift, the Silencer would Global Silence and by this point i'd have Magnetize going and follow it up with Geomagnetic Grip. Theoretical 14 seconds silence late game. We got it pretty close a couple of times as well.

So anyway, if anyone could offer some advise up. About the build, play style, specific instances (if you can be bothered to watch it back that is) i am eager to learn :horse:

Thanks,
Romark

If they had an aggressive trilane, you would have lost bot, because your lane was really bad. Earth Spirit cannot trilane, he needs levels.

The skill build was ok. Buy Blink Dagger more often than you buy Force Staff, and that particular game I would have gotten a Black King Bar instead of the Ghost Scepter.

Yeah, our lane was poor. That's why i was concentrating on pulling, any solo exp i could get! I was planning on roaming, but it just didn't work out.

I think Blink Dagger is better. I knew i needed one of them for initiation, and it wasn't so bad this game with the Puck starting everything, but i definitely see how it is better than the Force Staff.

Why would you have a BKB instead? The main problem i was facing was from the Lycan and Lifestealers right-clicks, so i just grabbed the Ghost Scepter so i could get in and get my initial combo off. I may well be missing something though...

If you get stunned, you're dead as well. Not too hard to get stunned with Ice Path in the middle of a teamfight. Burning to death with Macropyre around. And Paralyzing Cask. And Slithereen Crush. From both Lycan and Lifestealer you can just roll away. It has only 4 seconds of CD at max level.

Good point... Luckily only the Lycan built a BKB and the silences did the job. Definitely the wrong choice, got away with it in this game though!

If you want to learn more, I can give you some replays to watch. It's me playing (not saying I am amasing at him, but I find myself decent at least). A good place to start imo.

For really advanced stuff, you should watch JerAx when he's streaming. That if you actually like the hero itself.

Awesome, thanks a lot man. I'll get these watched.

Love the hero, want to get good enough to play him confidently and well. He's just so damn fun!
