Just curious. What is the point on making Battle Fury on Anti-Mage. I know players get it for farming but it takes them to make it till the 20 or 25 min. It's just a complete waste of time. In my Dota life I have never build Battle Fury on Anti-Mage, somehow I find it stupid. I've seen Battle Fury on Anti-Mage on Garen days to and the common build was Power Treads, Vanguard, Sange and Yasha and Battle Fury.

The way I play Anti-Mage is getting Power Treads, Vladmir's Offering and Manta Style. This always was my core ever since I play him. I get Power Treads, Vladmir's Offering and Yasha and then I can enter team fights with these items. A few minutes later I finish up Manta Style. I get these items till the 20 minute. I can solo Roshan to.

With these items I find Anti-Mage more effective rather with Battle Fury. I get Skull Basher afterwards and later in the game I buy Butterfly, Abyssal Blade Heart of Tarrasque. I can get situational ites such as Daedalus, Monkey King Bar and Assault Cuirass.

Why build Battle Fury when you can make items such as these and be more effective. It's always the same old story when Anti-Mage has Battle Fury in the 20 min and farms for Manta Style and that will take more than 15 mins. Some of the players will say: Anti-Mage still farm GG.

I want your opinions on why you build Battle Fury on Anti-Mage and what is the reason for that.

It's only good if you get it fast. 12-13 minutes in a favorable lane, 15 at the absolute latest. After that it should only take another ~8 minutes for Manta Style, and then you can farm whatever you want at a casual ~750+ GPM. Regardless of what you biold at this point, you're way ahead of everyone else in farm at 25-35 minutes and you cruise to victory.

There are definitely times when you don't want to build it (you're not going to get enough space, or the other team threatens fast barrack/throne), but those scenarios meant to salvage a poor pick, they're not something you should plan for. Sure it will work, but not nearly as well as any less farm-intensive carry.

Becouse you pick antimage becouse he is the fastest fatmer in the game after you get battlefury. That is the reason why you play him.
If you want to fight with your team you pick a different hero like phantom assasin.

I know he's the fastest farmer in the game.

Then why do you play him if you dont use it as the fastest farmer.

Pretty much this.. Anti-Mage falls off later in the game to harder carries - his main advantage comes in being ahead of the enemy carry by at least one item.. The way to achieve this is to farm jungle camps extremely fast with Blink + Battle Fury, while keeping your lanes pushed out.. That's the reason most people build a Battle Fury.

Problem is right here - timings are waaaay too slow, it should easily be 10-15 minutes earlier than this.

Ya I make fun of noobs building a 20-25 minute BF. The reasoning is the same as buying midas, even though it takes 17 minites to recoup the cost. Also with BF you can do something like split push top, return to jungle, split push mid, all in a little over 1 minute. Still as was said above sometimes you don't have enough space to farm with it so it might be good to skip.

If you don't get it by, at the latest, 25 mins, you probably already lost as an Anti-Mage. Unless the game somehow drags on forever, that is.

The idea behind Battlefury is that you can clear a jungle camp in just a few auto attacks, then blink to the next and repeat. Popping out into the lane when creeps are nearby adds to this, and lets you farm the entire jungle every minute, which is a substantial amount of gold.

The item also gives a pretty nice chunk of raw damage, and good regen to keep you healthy. Once you get Battlefury you can farm the rest of your items in a lot less time.

But yeah if you get ganked in the jungle twice and then die in a teamfight and only have boots and a wand 20 mins in, you should probably just build a Yasha and Vlad's and try to save the game.

All that being said, I don't think you have to buy Battlefury on him by any means. Its period of usefulness isn't very long for such a pricey item, but if you get it pretty quickly it will really pay off. A Maelstrom would probably work just as well.

You get it so you can farm faster and also split push lanes easier. For the first 20-25 minutes, AM shouldn't be jumping into fights unless there are kills without much risk but instead split push lanes while the rest of the team pressures another lane or forces teamfights. The cleave, damage and regen are all necessary to AM's full capabilities until super late game when you can replace it with something else.
