Your draft was way too teamfight reliant, you could have lost that game very easily. The fact that they drafted Bloodseeker (what the ****) that explains that they weren't very experienced. You could have picked another offlaner that can gank early like Bounty Hunter helping Witch Doctor mid. How did WD even win mid? Guess I'll have to watch the game for that.

this was a balls up of a game anyway haha.

i drafted witch and mag first thinking that if they went split push or were leaning that way i could draft counters but they went blood and death which i thought was weird, i went dazzle next so i could have that lane support for gyro or a harder carry but they picked up a clockwerk and earthshaker ... so i basically just went teamfight it is haha.

and he didnt win mid. it was a stalling tactic. basically told him to get six and stave off for as long as possible which he did we got 3 towers after one teamfight and shut down death after that.

i find the hard part about being captain is not drafting well, its drafting TO your teammates.
player A might own at gyro but be **** at Lifestealer or player B might be only really be able to play 20 heroes decently. Drafting to fit who can play who as well as skill levels on each hero AS WELL as drafting a good draft is incredibly frustrating exercise.

@Wulfstan ... if you were to see this on the enemy draft what would you pick.
them:
ban: veno / Dazzle
pick : Wraithking

you have banned : lifestealer/ vengeful

I WILL DESTROY YOU ALL.... WITH FLUFFY BUNNIES

Your draft was fine: I feel that picking both Enigma and Magnus is overkill, but at least you're ensured a good initiation (especially versus Death Prophet-based lineups that tend to five man push early). Their draft was kinda weird, I don't even know how they laned it: support Clockwerk? Or a greedy four-core lineup with jungle Dark Seer? And if so, who was mid, BS or DP? I like how they have a Death Prophet (strictly a five man pushing Hero) and some teamfight to go with it, but then pick two random gankers like Clockwerk and Bloodseeker.

By the way, I understand you about that drafting problem: most of the time I can pick whatever I want, but some friends of mine refuse to play, say, mid Lycanthrope for whatever reason or we end up with three support players and no off-laner. I try to make it work, but if a support player can't split push with Nature's Prophet he just starts feeding and make us lose... It really happened, sadly.

Back to the draft, I would only change the Enigma: maybe play support WD and get another mid like Puck or Brewmaster for teamfight or Invoker or Dragon Knight if you want a solid core that can also become a side carry. Or you could even pick Batrider and put him off-lane with mid Magnus: I especially love Bat in teamfight lineups with a critical ultimate because, most of the time, the enemies will group up and start following you after initiating, so your teammate can land a four man Reverse Polarity and kill the lassoed one.

As for the item builds, they're all fine. I maybe would've skipped Drums on Magnus, but a Drum is always good if no one else has it.

I'd probably pick two between Invoker, Batrider, Lycanthrope and Mirana since they're kinda op and didn't get banned. If you really want to counter WK, the best choices here are Quas- Wex Invoker and, since he doesn't get slowed by WK's ulti when using Shapeshift, Lycanthrope.

As the others said your lineup was decent but not very versatile since its only focussed on teamfight.

About the second question i wouldnt start focussing on countering wraith king straight off the bat. The only thing i would do is consider the possibility that they can agressive trilane with either WK as support or carry.
If later in the draft it turns out that he is their carry i will pick up a necrobook hero if i can.

lycanthrope would have lost mid hard against Death Prophet.

I have to agree with this, while the other eam were all over the place, you only seemed to focus on Teamfight. No strong Laners, no powerful Gankers, no Split-Push...just Teamfight. If you lose Teamfights, you lose everything here.

This does work at lower level pubs though, since no one knows how to Split-Push...they just charge in 1 by 1 and Feed. 8{3

If you were Drafting against me and I saw that Lycathrope + Nature's Prophet Ban (it screams "TEAMFIGHT INCOMING"), I'd have started off by destroying your Lanes with 2 strong Solos and an Aggressive Tri-Lane. Going against Dazzle + Gyrocopter isn't that easy, but a Dark Seer/ Batrider top as a 1st Pick and an Outworld Devourer/ Pugna Mid as a final Pick would hurt like hell.

I don't think Wulfstan would make those bans. Is this some sort of protect Tiny Banning strategy? 8{(

Veno 1st ban is confusing, Dazzle first Ban indicates they think you're going for a 4 Protect 1 Strat and want to make the 1 as killable as possible.

Wraith King is a strong first Pick as he can Carry or Support and is excellent in a Safe or Aggresive Tri-Lane, providing lots of killing potential either way.

I'd probably insta-pick Mirana, becuase Mirana + Wraith King is SCARY! A 2 second Stun that sets up for a 0.01-5 second Stun means that they have the upper hand in securing First Blood, especially with no Shallow Grave. Perhaps they're scared of Tri-Laning against Venemous Gale too...?

I'd also pickup Ancient Apparition, because then I've either got a good Aggresive Tri-Lane going, or the 1st in a powerful Roaming Support duo.
