I had three guides, one at 68% and two at 65% 5 minutes ago and have been that way for weeks. All of the sudden multiple votes come up on all my guides and now they are all at 60%. I'm sick of producing things that are just being downvoted by people trying to get into the top. The voting system here is completely broken and now all the work I put in my guides and did for contests are now out of contests and raped of its original rating with no negative feedback. So I'm just here to say I will no longer will create any guide here or put forth any effort to share my knowledge as it will soon be decimated so people can try to win money via steam. This seems like emo/rage/*****ing, but I know several of you that I've talked to agree.

It appears that people are starting to just down-vote everything. Guides that were at 80% before have all dropped with 5 or so additional votes. If the Administrators give the Moderator position the ability to see who voted and what vote, I am pretty sure it will be easy to weed out people abusing the system.

Anyways, I have always noticed this was a problem with smaller communities like the one we have her and over on Omeka Prime: A lot of people vote out of spite.

I did not want to have to say anything, but DachEtMax's guides go up 5% instantly after being posted and have continued to go up with very few views, if that's not evidence I don't know what is.

Remove the corrupted vote system till game release or until we get a system where moderators can see who voted.

I've downvoted like 2-3 because they werent helpful at all and actually sucked. D&M guy actually makes good guides by making spotlights, if we only knew what he was saying it'd be better.

Then how do you know it is even good if you don't have a clue what he is saying?

i think only the editors, and or a new version of ranks should be aloud to vote.

I don't. I mean, yes, there are people that downvote just to make their guide higher up there, and there are those who upvote just because the guide is a friend's. I think the majority of votes though, are honest votes. It's going to be a bit extreme with an active community as small as DFire is now, but come release of the game we will get more traffic and the ratio between honest votes and non-honest votes wont be so intense.

I have to agree with Atlas here, whilst it sucks if it is happening just so people can win a competition the community isn't big enough at the moment to worry about the voting system. Once the game launches we can expect DotaFire to become as big as MobaFire is for LoL. With guides being thrown up every hour and a big userbase to vote on them and cast their opinions as to which is best.

So for the moment be patient and tolerant, whilst it sucks if your guide is being downvoted for no good reason the only thing you can do about it is try to improve the guide so more people will counter the downvotes with upvotes.
