ThePipersSon

Craig the Hacker

Practicality

10/15

Really cool idea although could be pretty confusing to remember what the nerfs and buffs all do, also could be very strong, but I like it a lot.

Creativity

13/15

Really interesting idea. I like the fact he's kinda like a support hero who gives his team a subtle but very useful advantage for the entire game.

Beauty

3/5

Decently formatted, easy to read.

Personal

4/5

I really like the idea, good job. 30/40

Unscathed

Bleeding Mirror

Practicality

9/15

I really like the idea although it sounds sort of difficult to use effectively.

Creativity

15/15

I did the same quest as you and I can say for certain yours is a hell of a lot better than min eis. Never could of thought of something like this myself

Beauty

5/5

Looks great, nothing more to say.

Personal

2/5

I really like the idea of the item, but I don't think I would be able to utilise it effectively myself if it were in the game. In the right hands it's really strong though.

Total score: 31/40

Zen the Hermit

Practicality

8/15

I really like this idea but I'm a little confused... how does he scale? He can only put 12 points in his abilities as far as I can tell, because Life Marks doesn't scale at all, apologies if I'm missing something though

Creativity

15/15

Cool idea, I reaalllly like the idea of passively buffing things that your whole team can utilize, similarly to ThePipersSon's idea of buffing wards which benefits the entire team in a new and interesting way. And boy the ult is pretty crazy. I was a little confused to begin with, but It averages all heroes and then increases/decreases the levels depending on whether it's an ally or enemy. Plus I freaking hate games where my team is so behind it's just impossible to do anything. Really good idea.

Beauty

5/5

As always with you Yzreel, perfectly formatted.

Personal

5/5

God dammit volvo, I need this hero in the game now!!

Total Score: 33/40

Cupid, the Amora

Practicality

13/15

I can see the combos already! I really like the concept although I'm not sure if it could be OPOP.

Creativity

12/15

I really like the spells he has, pretty good at forcing movement of enemies which we don't have that much of ingame.

Beauty

3/5

Well formatted, feel kind of rude rating halfway since my formatting is garbage but oh well.

Personal

4/5

I would probably play it so 4/5. Also is that a Kid Icarus picture?

Total Score: 32/40

Practicality

7/15

Don't get me wrong, I like this hero, but the scaling on his abilities is a little bit weird for my taste, a lot of his abilities negatively scale as well as positvely, but they scale in ways that almost makes me not want to level them up, like his Q almost doubles in cooldown, just for some extra damage, and his night vision decreases massively when you skill his E. It's normal for manacosts to increase normally, but I think this scaling is too bad for the ability to be worth leveling, sorry for the low marking though.

Creativity

10/15

I like his ult, it's sorta like a setup ability since Adradh himself can't cast anything. But that's cool, we need more abilities like this.

Beauty

5/5

Formatting is awesome, good job.

Personal

2/5

I really like the concept but I really just don't like the way some abilities scale, it's a little confusing for me.

25/40

Hey everyone, I hope it's fine that I left some comments on everything, if not I can remove them. If I've got something wrong about your idea and I voted you down on it please tell me so maybe I alter my vote (or are votes final? can I change them?). I really tried to be as fair as possible, please don't hate me if I voted something down for a stupid reason. Also did I do this right smuggles? I can change it if I failed in some manner.

I don't know if I'm allowed to interfere, but since you said you're confused (also for the benefits of other voting for me), let me explain. Life Marks has 4 levels, like all other skills, and levelling the skill will grant additional effects, not increasing the value. So, in level one it will only reduce the scan cooldown, in level two it will additionally show enemy heroes location, level three additionally increase radius / reduce cooldown, and only at the max level will all effects be implemented. Sorry for not being clearer in the post.

Oh I see, I'm sorry. I read it over several times but I must've been an idiot and missed it every time, but that's why I put the comments here, so if someone didn't understand why they were voted low then this would clear it up a bit. I would change vote but I don't know if I'm allowed to change the votes.

So Smuggles, can I change it if something I didn't understand was the reasoning behind rating it slightly lower than I would've done? Or can I not change it now?

Yzreel

Zen the Hermit

Practicality

Score 10/15
Reason

Overall good, but I think would require some more balancing for sure. Some of the abilities are REALLY strong, but the hero is also very lacking in other areas. If he was in the game, he'd have a touch of Broodmother about him - OP in specific scenarios, massively UP in others.

Creativity
Score 13/15
Reason

An interesting solution to snowballing heroes, good abilities that are well thought out. I just kinda wonder how much fun he'd be to play? Sure there are very defensive heroes like Dazzle and Io but they're a little bit more active. I'm sure it would be possible with playtesting though, maybe some reworking.

Beauty
Score 4/5
Reason

Well presented, especially like the custom icons.

Personal
Score 4/5
Reason

Solid character design combined with lore. Very strong overall package.

Craig the Hacker

Practicality

Score 6/15
Reason

Afraid the hero couldn't be in DOTA in it's current state, there would be a lot of fleshing out and balancing to be done. For instance, is his ult global? Channelled? Could he just sit in the fountain and use it?

Creativity
Score 13/15
Reason

Some really interesting ideas and good ways of addressing rarely affected areas of DOTA. There's some good stuff here, it needs fleshing out is all.

Beauty
Score 2/5
Reason

Presentation is lacking some colour and pictures.

Personal
Score 3/5
Reason

A very up and down submission. There's some really good ideas for interesting hero abilities, but it's a bit held back by the lore and lack of detail/balancing. It's fun though and I like it, but feel I have to score it appropriately according to the criteria.

TOTAL: 24/40

Bleeding Mirror

Practicality

Score 11/15
Reason

I like the idea, and feel this could fit into the game with some tweaking. In it's present form think it's a bit OP as that could be 8 seconds of invincible 60% illusion damage. The downside isn't quite enough, as not many heroes/items have the ability to manuever heroes to counter this. As it's an item choice, it's difficult to counter that long after draft. Would like to see it maybe countered by the likes of Sheepstick perhaps.

Creativity
Score 10/15
Reason

Solid idea with an interesting twist, it's certainly not core on Bristleback :). A bit difficult to score higher since it builds a lot of Sange and Yasha, and it's hard to get as much creativity into a single item as a hero.

Beauty
Score 5/5
Reason

Extremely well presented, especially like the custom icon and use of colour.

Personal
Score 4/5
Reason

Very well thought out and good delivery, this deserves to go through.

Ahradh the Sun Mage

Practicality

Score 7/15
Reason

While I like a lot of the ideas, they don't mesh into something that I think is all that playable ingame. Would take a fair bit of reworking and balancing to make into a genuine DOTA hero.

Creativity
Score 12/15
Reason

Again, some great ideas - lots of interesting combinations, and there is a shape to the hero that could be fun to play. Also good use of Lore and hero design working together.

Beauty
Score 3/5
Reason

Solid presentation, but can't give it quite as much as some of the other submissions which just look that bit better.

Personal
Score 3/5
Reason

With some more work and development there's the core of a really good idea here, it's just not quite there yet.

TOTAL: 25/40

Safecyn

Cupid, the Amora

Practicality

Score 8/15
Reason

Ooo those skills. The ideas are great, but man, they're kinda horribly abusable by the twisted min/maxers of DOTA. 4 seconds of being completely untargable? 3.25 seconds of essentially Flaming Lasso, enemy sense at 1600 range? Ooo. Good ideas all, but there need to be more downsides to such strong powers e.g. leave them intact, but make it easier to counter them, or for the effects to go wrong. That would seem to suit the lore better - love can very easily become misguided? :)

Creativity
Score 12/15
Reason

Great writing and some good ideas. They would be a lot of fun to play with and find combination for, once balanced.

Beauty
Score 3/5
Reason

Solid presentation, but can't give it quite as much as some of the other submissions which just look that bit better.

Personal
Score 3/5
Reason

I love Safecyn's writing style so I'm trying hard not to let that sway me too much. Feel a little bit like he maybe left this late and didn't have quite as much time as he wanted to polish it.

Righto, here are my votes.

Unscathed - Bleeding Mirror

34/40

Practicality: 12/15
This was hard to judge. 60% damage on an invulnerable illusion is a lot - can you imagine this on Morphling? And it also counts raw damage - honestly, that seems like too much to me and I'd make it like a semi- Reflection illusion. However, it's balanced out by the betrayal... it'd require in-game testing to see how hard/easy it is for betrayal to trigger. I like how it's a Yasha upgrade, meaning you'd generally get either this or Manta Style - though the active is good enough I'd consider getting both.

Creativity - 13/15
Balance issues aside, it's certainly creative. I like that it upgrades SnY, but I'm not sure how needed it was as SnY had a niche on its own. However, it seems like a twist on Manta Style without the benefits of rat dota.

Presentation - 5/5
Flawless. Keep it up.

Personal - 4/5
Points for making Troll Warlord's new favourite item, as well as interesting parallels to Manta.
_______________________________________________________________________

ThePipersSon - Craig the Hacker

23/40

Practicality - 8/15
Aside from his ult and his E, he doesn't really... do anything. He's got a global teleport, but nothing to really do with it. His ult is also unclear - range? Radius? And there are just too many interactions for it to properly work. Buffings wards is OK and all, but there are better ways of improving vision.

Creativity - 11/15
Obvious inspiration was drawn from some abilities, but I liked the ideas. However, there isn't really any skill synergy. Despite this, in-game buffs and nerfs are an interesting idea I can get behind.

Presentation - 1/5
It could really use bolding, pictures, underlining, anything to add some colour.

Personal - 3/5
As I said before, I like the ideas, but it's too impractical for me to love. And I have to ask, who is born with the name Craig? Do you have a normal name, and then when you hit 30 you become a Craig? No offence intended, but the name makes me cringe a little.
__________________________________________________________________________

Yzreel - Zen the Hermit

29/40

Practicality - 11/15
You say it's a comeback hero, but his W is more like a '**** up a lategame carry' skill, because carries tend to get kills. His Q doesn't have anything marked out for levels - how does it scale with skill points? His E seems underwhelming until the lategame when there will be those spikes of damage, as it heals for very little. So his W and E are lategame skills, yet his ult somewhat isn't as at that point you'll at most be losing some stats. Aside from that, he does almost nothing if you're ahead, but serves to keep the playing field even and prevent comebacks from the other side. All in all, the numbers are balanced, but it's a weird concept that doesn't well translate into Dota in its current form.

Creativity - 12/15
Comeback heroes aren't that creative a concept and there have been numerous iterations, but this one was a fairly interesting attempt. Rescaling levels and buffing scanning is new.

Presentation - 4/5
The lack of punctuation in the flavour text irks me immensely.

Personal - 2/5
Damage reduction is the most AIDS-giving, rage-inducing, fun-sucking ******** to ever occur in Dota, and is why I hope I never play against Pit Lord. I'd give a 4/5, but there is no excuse for this travesty.
_________________________________________________________________________________

Ch110pB - Ahradh the Sun Mage

28/40

Practicality - 11/15
Seems legit to me, a tanky semicarry with a vision advantage during the day and a powerful ult. The cooldown on Q is too long, and his vision passive is very ineffective as a general rule. Numbers tweaks all-round are needed, but I can see this being a thing.

Creativity - 10/15
His skills appear to be a mismatch of various ideas from other heroes. Nothing particularly inspiring, but it works out to something more than the sum of its parts.

Presentation - 3/5
Missing skill icons deduct a couple of points here.

Personal - 4/5
No strong feelings here, nothing to dislike.
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Safecyn - Cupid, the Amora

26/40

Practicality - 6/15
Horrifically broken in almost every way. 4 seconds of untargetability? Mini meat hook without a skillshot? Sensing enemies through fog and smoke? The ult is also missing a cooldown, but it'd have to be at least 90 seconds.

Creativity - 12/15
Interesting use of a mobility theme, with a clever idea for the passive E. It's just... incredibly broken.

Presentation - 4/5
Good use of colour and other formatting.

Personal - 4/5
I rather liked the idea of what the skills do, but I'm just not a fan of the love theme.
There are two kinds of people in the world; those who can count, and those who can't.

Not that I expect it to affect the score in any way but that second ability actually specifically says 'skill shot' right on it. Good catch on that ultimate not having a cooldown though: that was bad of me.

I am an idiot. I initially made that first ability to deal a total of 600 damage on Level 4 and had the increased CD because otherwise low hp heroes will die quickly. Then changed it to a less damaging ability but forgot to change the CD. My bad.
And as an agility hero, he can pick a moon shard which will negate the vision loss at night. Might have liked something as Forced Day though but the current Ult seemed better suited to him. First hero, so could not better synergies in the skills. Will try next time.
