One thing I've noticed a lot recently is the number of players insisting on a solo or jungle role before the teams have been picked, or when they have and it's completely inappropriate.

Why have Junglers?

The main purpose of having junglers is to increase the amount of farm and experience that the team receives overall. This is because two players (the solo and the jungler) each receive their own supply and if things go reasonably well, it means they gain an overall advantage.

However, you need a proper solo hero for this to work. Someone who can actively benefit from the experience and survive the lane. Sometimes you can run a safe lane solo instead, and this increases the number of heroes who can do it successfully.

Not having a proper solo can make your jungle/solo combo a disadvantage for your team. Also beware of especially unpleasant lanes from the opposition. For example, if the enemy hard carry is freefarming their safe lane - while your solo just has to hang around th…

Howdy guys, it's been awhile since I've been on. Life's been keeping me busy. I have come across some Dota 2 invites. If there are any users who wish to have one of these, PM me and I'll send you one. Doesn't seem fair to have 11 invites sit in my inventory gathering dust. Cheers guys.

MY Version of the story behind Tiny.

Tiny was a earth golem that was sworn to protect his and the rest of his herds side of the earth no known as north America. Before settlers came in the Golems lived happy lives working and spending time with there family even if they couldn't speak. Live was good even though Tiny was the smallest of the group he was still very happy even when taking twice as much as any other golem could. He was extremely happy until the day when one of the setler came close o him and looked very threatening. Tiny stood still not sure what to do and he had no choice especially when the man threw tiny into a bag and ran off with him to a lab where tiny was tested on. The tests were painful and Tiny didn't know how much more he could take until one of the tests failed and made Tiny stronger than ever before. Tiny was now able to talk and could grow up to 3x his size depending on his anger. Tiny was extremely mad so he grew and grew. Once he got to his full potential…

When you hear the name Visage in dota 2 you usually think of a character you don't know about or a character you have looked at but dosen't look particularly amazing for your gaming type. Well im here to tell you that if you like durable disablers and would like to do more damage Visage is probably the one for you. From slowing while gaining speed and attack speed to summoning familiars that will do amazing damage to start off and can regenerate that strength and lost health from one ability Visage will destroy everyone who tries to take him on alone starting mid game. Visage has three things that people love to see in characters. Including ganking for the first kill at level five or six to destroying in team fights and he can also take on someone on by himself especially wen treated as a carry because he can certainly carry the team. If you play dota 2 for the enjoyment of winning almost every match possible then go and give Visage a chance.

-Thanks for reading guys!

Matchmaking

Love it or loathe it, the Valve matchmaking system is probably the single most important aspect of making Dota 2 a fun game to play. Personally, I'd rather lose a close, exciting game, than win an easy stomp.

Matchmaking is so important in Dota because the differences in skill between players tends to make or break the game. Assuming the system gets it pretty well balanced then it comes down to team work, picks, good plays and maybe a bit of luck - hopefully making for a gg.

Did a bit of research and found out some interesting things about the matchmaking system:

- There are no actual skill brackets for matchmaking (you can see which category your games get placed in by going to "Watch", and then filtering by skill and your name), it's on a continuous scale. This is good to hear, as you'd think they'd be some pretty big variations by putting players into just 3 categories.

- Your usual role and hero choices aren't taken into account when matchmaking. This is a bit disappointing…

I have decide to explore Omniknight as my first subject to write about. I will list Omnikinght needs with priority order.

1) Mana pool and mana regeneration
2) Health point
3) Extra effect
4) Damage per second

This is my first thought of Omniknight. Let this be my hypothesis.

First of all why did I say he need mana? Omniknight were picked not because his stat nor his damage. The main reason he is pick is because of his skills. How can we maximize his potential is with sufficient mana. If he can cast his spell when ever its need, he is utilized.

Second, it is generally can be said Health point but what I want to appoint here is his survivability. Omniknight need to survive for at least after he cast all his spell. But casting all his spell is not enough. He needs to cast it on perfect timing. The worst case is he is dead without using any of his skill. A sufficient survivability is important so he can buy some time on timing his skills and casting it. Besides that I also sees some p…

Hello guys, I am The Way of ****** and you can call me TWoR. If you really want to pronounce it, you can pronounce it as Wor which you silent the T or just pronounce it as War in British ascent. English is not my native language so Broken English is a MUST.

My DotA thing start in early 2012. The story begin when I am doing research about the end of world. Turn to be my research end up with Mayan's theory which the world will end during 2012. At the time I am so scared and feel so down. So, I decide to resign from my job and spent my last moment the way that i want.

I decided to have fun with cyber-life before my life ended. I rent small apartment room, buy new PC and rent fastest internet service available. I do a lot of thing but end up with DotA. Since then I play DotA like 24/7 and Isolate myself from real world.

Time goes fast and now its 2013. Clearly I am **** up right now. Mayan's are liar. Clearly, Mayan's is not trust able, and maybe they are just some idiot cult. So, despi…

Hi, I'm Sando - I've been playing Dota 2 about a year and a half and mainly play int/support heroes, thou I'm getting quite into randoming :)

This blog is going to be a series of musings on games I've played, thoughts about strategy and hero comments.

First up Timbersaw...now I'm happy to be corrected on this...but I've yet to see anyone play him effectively. Supposedly he's a ganker, but due to his powers he doesn't seem like a great mid, and he never seems to get going enough to really do very much from the sidelanes. Not really a carry or a support...where does he fit into a team? I can think of more effective gankers, team fighters and other non-carries. So, bad pick, or just bad players?
