Hello and welcome to Nubtrain's blog about Dota vs LoL: The Unending Battles. We'll be taking a look at the differences in both games, whether X game is better than Y and company design principles. So enjoy the read both new and seasoned players!

Disclaimer: I will try my best to be as non-bias as possible!

Borrowing a few ideas from a mod in Starcraft called Aeon of Strife gave birth to Defense of the Ancients which in-turn spawned games like League of Legends and Heroes of Newerth. The most successful out of the Dota-like games is League of Legends which had about 1.3 million active players at its peak (at the current writing time). League of Legends was very successful thanks to its easier accessibility and free to play model while the DotA mod suffered in countries other than Asia mainly due to Warcraft 3 being needed to play. Since DotA was a mod in another game, it was very limited to what it can offer to players like a reconnect feature, hard to access compared to a free…

leshrac

Leshrac is underestimated on the basis that not many people play him and most of them play him badly. firstly your prefered laning buddies is someone melle and wont ditch you early.
you want your diabolic edict maxed asap because anyone can be killed with it. next and alot of people disagree with this you want to max your lighting storm because whenever you use it it is a great KS move but late game it because useless. my problem with split earth is that timing is very difficult because it takes too long to administer the stun but in ganks and while heros are distract it is good for initiations. as soon as pulse nova can be leveled get it because it does insane amounts of dmage and can be turned on and off when you want but pay attention to the mana loss because it costs60 mana a second when maxed out ( aghanims sceptre is a definite purchase ) when ganking turn on your diabolic and use lightning if any hero is running away with low life and but as soon as anyone comes near yo…

hey everyone i have not had the time recently to make any more posts so im compensating now with a a few paragraphs on clinks and then i will make a guide for my 5 top heros.

ok then lets get started. clinks is really good. if you can play him. if you cant play him. play someone else. i do believe this is a general rule for all heros. but playing just about an hour ago me and my friend (no name) were playing with noobs. no name played as lifestealer and i havent had many combinations with clinks but this one workedlike a charm.
when you are clinks maxing out your searing arrows and skeleton walk fast. the reason y lifestealer is a good partner is because once you start leveling your searing arrows and stealer levels his open wounds what you do is atuo your searing arrows and who ever that here is he is dead. that great thing about that combination of attacks is that it can work at any stage of the game, quick thing later game lifestealer can infest in you while you are invisible you g…

Hey everyone, I wasn't sure if I should post this in the inhouse fourm, since it's not a tournament, but here we go:

There will be no prizes, just a fun little thing I wanted to do. Also, if you guys want, I can also play League of Legends. (ID is Glayde)

Hey fellow Dota 2 players. Today I'll be going over some basics on Lane Composition because in my lower ranked pub games I see a lot of mistakes and confusion over who should go to which lane. It took me a little while to figure this out so I figured I would share what I've learned and hopefully it will clarify somethings.

As you can see in the minimap above there are three lanes. These are commonly reffered to as 'Top' 'Mid' and 'Bot'(bottom), which is something you're probably familiar with. The image above also illustrates how the running distance to and from the lanes are different for each team. The mid, top and bot monikers are pretty obvious.

Less known to noobies, is that the top and bottom lanes are also referred to as the 'Easy' lane, 'Hard' or 'Suicide' lane. The reason for this is because of the length of the lane and the opportunities for ganking from the jungle is very different on either side. As Atlas kindly pointed out, this difference is different for both The Dire…

Morph game

Hey,
just had a great game with Morphling, in conclusion he be pro.
my problem is changing his morph ability. my Dota IQ isnt the best so i have trouble getting morph the kills he deserves. i only just realized what ive been doing, which is putting him on full strength and then getting my mana back with a clarity. that reduces my damage by a whole lot. i tried it the other way round and my damage was beast. i think using the morph agility is best at the beggining for early kills. but when it comes to gangks ( espesially ones involving chaos knight and huskar) having lots of health will be a larger benefit as if your being gangked it gives you more oppurtunity for escape.
secondly i found that your replicate can do mega damage if you replicate the right hero. i replicated chaos knight and sent him after lone druid and lone druid was killed one on one with my replicate.(maybe because he was AFK, but thats not the point) the point is in ganks or a chase your replicate and waveform are you…

Hi All,

As I'm sure most of you know, there has been a major update on the original dota1. Changes which WILL be implemented (once Dota1 is balanced and stable) into Dota2.

http://www.playdota.com/changelogs/6.75

We may find more changes in Dota1, before it joins us in Dota 2, but clearly some of the changes have been made for dota2 client - with some heroes getting heavily buffed for the faster pace of dota 2 compared to dota 1.

Let's have a look at some of the major changes we may find in the dota2 client, and it's major impact on the current meta. Your thoughts?

Some of the interesting changes are the debuffs -
anti mage, now has a slightly longer cast time to blink, with compared to other blinkers was very quick! he also has a reduced MS

Dark Seer as expected was heavily debuffed - particularly vacuum - longer cd, smaller AOE, and unfortuantely the naga sleep, vacuum combo will not work anymore! :D

pandaren - his ulti will now be affected by blackhole - a natural addition, …
