The reason you pick troll is to BASH someone first hit and than spam in the allchat your bashingskills. Troll is just fun to play, I mean he manfights like a beast. It doesn't matter that he isn't the strongest hero right now since a proper Troll Warlord player should still be able to win with him. I've actually played more troll during this patch than in 6.83 and my winrate is pretty good. If you want to play troll, just go troll.

He isn't bad he isn't good he is in the middle of the pack. Yes there are better carries and yes od and Invoker are pretty good counters to him but just farm a bkb. He stills farm fast with the Iron Talon. Hotd is amazing on the hero to get an alpha wolve and than you hit like a truck.

Personally I go:
Iron Talon, Phase Boots, Ring of Aquila, Helm of the Dominator, sange& yasha, Monkey King Bar/ Daedalus/ Butterfly/ Eye of Skadi. Shadow Blade is situational good.

Let's all hail the lord of trolls so he can peel back their uglies.
Any man can make mistakes, but only an idiot persists in it.
-Cicero

And still every dota player flames someone else instead of himself.

Agree with hamster on most parts that troll is kinda shot and am really inclining to that value point in whirling axes.
I will still say that getting more than 2 points in berserkers rage is just pointless early game. Secondly, he now has 2 lacklustre value points with fervour being in a good place right now. 4 points in fervour is like a level 3 ulti 5 hits in.

Now that his skills are not really valuable and stats don't bring that much to the table, for a filthy troll picker to work he needs to be going for a trade-off in building either naked damage or going stats with risk of being made a chicken late game.

He needs 15 minutes of solitary farm with no great upside. Consider giving that time amount to an arc warden or terrorblade, they go berserk.

Troll on the other hand will just be a gamble to control the tempo of the game even then.

He needs a lot of damage as he stands. I am considering going phase armlet on him just to remedy the pitiable state he is in. And I am an armlet hater. I avoid armlet even on ck, go figure

The three points of Berserker's Rage beyond level 1 give you a Yasha's worth of movement speed and a 2 second stun. That's how you chase, and also note that chainstunning Roshan is the key to soloing him.

You can go 1/1/4 + stats if you want, Anti-Mage style, where you skill stats half of the time and only max Q later. But that's the main point : a good skill build on Troll skills stats. A lot.
especially with his marvelous 13 + 1/level INT gain, literally the best in the game...so the 2 INT from stats is the only way for this hero to have mana

The advantage of the hero still is that he's possibly the best manfighter in the game - Faceless Void included - and has what essentially amounts to a permanent haste rune once he gets SnY, plus a plethora of slows. So it's really hard to kite him too. With the changes to Fervor, he's even better lategame than he was in 6.83. The removal of damage from Berserker's Rage set his timing window back 5-10 minutes. I've found him to still be very playable.

Quelling, Tango
Phase
(Drums)
SnY/Helm
Helm/SnY/BKB
BKB/BTY/Skadi
Daedalus/MKB/BTY/Skadi

Is my usual build and I've had decent success this patch. I don't always go drums.
