Signature/Best hero: Nyx Assassin
Build: Arcane Boots, Urn of Shadows, Dagon(Only one level), Blink Dagger, Necronomicon(Up to level 3), Boots of Travel(Sell arcanes), Two more levels in Dagon, Scythe of Vyse, Ethereal Blade(Sell Urn), Finish Dagon 5.

Necrobook is great for push, so you can assassinate somebody, Impale the wave, and dump necrobook to push the wave all the way back to their tower. You can get more in Dagon immediatley after Blink Dagger if you are completley owning. Blink allows you to initiate when Vendetta is not available, and sheepstick can allow you to make a quick getaway after a risky assassination or as an instant (counter)initiation. Eblade gives your combo more damage and can be used for protection, or on an enemy casually for the disarm+slow.

Skillbuild is:
Q: 1,3,5,7
W: 8,9,13,14
E: 2,4,10.12
R: 6,11,16
This is a sample build, and should not be followed level-by-level. Mana Burn doesn't do much at low levels, and you should start skilling it when you get Dagon for the little bit of extra nuke. Don't skill stats over skills.

Dazzle with Phase Boots - Mask of Madness - Maelstrom - Daedalus - Shadow Blade - Mjollnir. Turns games around, in wrong direction sadly.

Assassin Chaos Knight: Dagon 5 (the ultimate assassin weapon) and then the Shadow Blade of invincibility for quick and uncounterable escapes. Proven to work 99.99% of the time.

But my hero that has a success rate of 99.999 is:

My signature hero is Crystal Maiden

I like to go Tranquils into Blink, then rush aghanims first. Not a very crazy build, but I use it almost every game. Unless I'm sitting behind, then I might go Force Staff and Glimmer Cape

My signature hero is CM too, and nothing fancy there, but I like to think my Venomancer semi-support is nice and original:

Tranquil Boots --> Eul's Scepter of Divinity --> Aghanim's Scepter --> Silver Edge. You're a fast venomous mothapucka, and you survive with a mixture of cycloning and invisibility.

Orchid Malevolence, Force Staff and Blink Dagger work too, but are nowhere as fun.

The last item, because I'm ballsy, has to be a Heart of Tarrasque.

^ try an aghs, excellent high ground defense.

Aghs isn't very good if they have any form of detection because it makes you immobile. Blink allows you to jump on them and get the surprise factor. Also, if they have no detection you should go assassinate a support to take away some of their disable. Aghs would only be useful if you are defending highhround, and by the time you are able to farm one the highground defense should be over one way or the other and you would be better off with a necrobook. You shouldn't buy a scepter unless your team is behind and you are doing very well because if you just grab a scepter in the middle of the game you lose your ability to continue assassinating and initiating in exchange for defensive capability you don't need. Overall not a very good aghs upgrade imo.

Nyx's Ag's just makes you a better initiator as well as a better defensive item. Like you can blink, Impale, Burrow, Spiked Carapace for the additional guaranteed stun. Like, sure it's all well and good to be able to jump on and burst down an enemy support with Vendetta, but you'll win more team-fights by getting multiple hero Impale's than through killing that one support. Like it's 5.5ish seconds of AOE stun which is terrifying.

Especially since Nyx is a hero who generally doesn't need items (Other than Blink Arcanes) to scale well, because his skills scale fantastically, and Ag's just make his skills better.

But your hero, your chosen build. I shan't argue any further.

Oh yeah, I guess my Dusa is another Hero I play a lot;

Ring of Aquila -> Phase Boots -> Yasha -> Manta Style/ Eye of Skadi -> the other one -> MKB -> whatever items are needed from then on.

Maxing Mystic Snake, with a point in shield and stats by level 7. Then max Split Shot, and then shield by 14 without any other points in Stone Gaze till 24 and 25

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

Dunno if my amount of games qualifies my for the concept of a "signature hero", but according to my dotobuff, they are probably Puck and Undying. I usually play Puck mid and Undying as a (solo) offlane.

Puck

Starting: Two Branches. Two shared Tangos (or a set of my own). Because I'm in potato tier, and you can get away with that **** there.

Later: Fast Bottle, obviously, into brown Boots. After that, it depends very much on my mid matchup and how well I'm doing. If things go exceedingly well: Blink -> Treads -> Eul's. If things go ok: Treads -> Blink -> Eul's. If things go worse: Null -> Treads -> Blink -> Eul's. Bracer only if needed. Orchid on Puck stays in the trash, where it belongs.

Much later: Very situational - I usually check which utility my team needs, and build that, Puck can farm reasonably well. If I have no clue, usually Hex/Shiva's/Dagon, depending on how I want to play (almost never Dagon, actually, the impact usually feels underwhelming). Agh's is usually not worth it due to the uncoordinated nature of later teamfights/lack of organized late-game ganks in my tier.

Skillbuild: Is there more than one way to build Puck? 1-1-1 -> max Orb -> max Rift -> max Phase.

Undying

Starting: Orb of Venom, Tangos and either a Stout Shield or two Branches, depending on the lane. You want a rune? Sorry, what you get instead is a CRAZY ZOMBIE WHO KILLS YOU. If I random him: Brown Boots, Orb and two Branches.

Later: Super situational. My most common build is Phase or Mana Boots into Vanguard + Urn, order depending on the game. I usually go either Vanguard or Pipe, both only against very specific lineups, usually a casual Hood does the trick if you build Vanguard. I usually turn the Vanguard into a Crimson at some point. If necessary I'll build a Mek. Blademail if I'm doing well.

Much later: To be honest, my Undying games either don't go past 30-40 minutes or I get shut down so hard that I don't get to buy anything. So, no data available. :p

Skillbuild: Always max Tombstone first. If I get Phase, I'll leave Decay at 1 and max Soul Rip because you can't spam Decay for a while anyway, if I get Mana Boots vice versa.

My signature build on Windranger was rushing the Aghanim's Scepter followed by Monkey King Bar and Daedalus for huge damage boost.

I never felt that the Null Talisman/ Force Staff/ Blink Dagger on the hero made sense.
