From my experience, skipping Mana Drain (bar maybe one point invested to counter Linken's Sphere) is actually standard Lion play. Delaying Finger of Death until Level 13 is an odd and fruitless endeavor.

Shadow Blade is fun but outclassed by Blink Dagger and Force Staff on Lion, especially if you aren't attempting to semi-carry. Refresher Orb and Aghanim's Scepter are too mana intensive and inefficient, respectively, to be effective.

At the very least, you understand Lion's general play-style.
