I love this thread great idea! I have plenty of border line game breaking insane ideas that will never see reality. Since it's been two days I take it I can post a new conversation.

What if Intelligence provided magic resistance?

So I was thinking,

Strength hero's build stats they get damage and get tankier

Agility heroes build stats they get damage, tankier and their attack speed improves

Intellegence heroes build stats they get damage and.....an increased mana pool. whoopdi doo

Since the other two get survivability from stats surely it couldn't be so bad for Intel heroes to get a little bit of magic resistance. There's also kind of a lack of magic resistance items. Cloak, Hood and Pipe. It would be an interesting dynamic to have more options for magic resistance. I think it could actually increase the skill level of the game a bit. Item builds would become so much more important.

Obviously this would radically alter the game in more ways than I can imagine. But I think it would be cool.

Wow, no one's going to comment at all about how it would break the balancing of dota 2 blah blah, I thought a lot of people is going to theory craft about this interesting topic.

If not though, I will take on another discussion?

I believe that you all have known about Oculus Rift / Project Morpheus / Omni / Basically Virtual Reality. If not, here:

I've been thinking. Considering how big Dota 2 is nowadays, I don't think it will dies out. Eventually, it will reach a few years and Dota 3 will come out (except if Gabe still can't count to 3). So my question is this:

"What if Dota 3 is played in First Person View using virtual reality?"

If someone wants to continue the previous discussion first, go ahead!

It wouldn't really be DOTA if it was changed to 1st Person. You'd need a MOBA that was more like Smite for this to work.

How about heroes like Nature's Prophet, Phantom Lancer, Enigma... How would you control all of those units? Let alone Meepo!

Initiators would be screwed. How Sand King would be able to know where to blink with Epicenter?

I see only right-click carries benefits from Frist Person View. I don't know, probably Dragon Knight would be the best to play like that. Maybe Sven, Nyx Assassin, Medusa, Juggernaut. More ideas?

Yeah, I know that it is quite a silly idea. It's just that looking at the new upcoming technology of Virtual Reality I really want to know if dota can continue and use that platform. Of course, A LOT of adjustments need to be made, which is why, what if.

Yeah, those are the kinds of things that I know will have to change in virtual reailty first person dota 3: map awareness, micro-management, positioning, camera movement. Since this is a thread that talks about stupid idea, let's discuss and think about it.

1) We can still use mini-map (like other first person RPG, but need to check it often)
2) Micro management can probably use some sort of split screen for other units? (I don't think it'll work)
3) Positioning, or probably blinking can use Dishonored type of blink and teleport
4) Camera movement: Well...... Probably the map can do something?
