Hi
I encountered a big problem today , our enemy started the game in bot and all of them stayed there . They killed our 2 bots and destroyed our towers so we lost .
I was Lycan & because of this I couldn't go to farm coz all my teammates called for my help , so I couldn't get my core fast enough and we just lost easily .
What should we do when this thing happens ?

When 5 enemies are attacking a single lane, make sure you farm the other two lanes and destroy the towers. While they are winning one lane and they are sharing experience to 5 people, you are winning 2 lanes and you are sharing experience to 2. That means you'll be higher level and you'll get more gold. There's no point in defending, leave them waste their time. Keep in mind that 5 man share that experience and farm, they'll be low level and they'll have no items at all. So farm as much as possible for gold and experience, and later on, you'll win.

So all 5 of us should go in other lanes ?

I have another question : How is the lane build-up ?
I mean what kind of heroes should go to which lanes , who goes mid , which lane should a support go to , how many supports & carrys should a team have , how will the lane build-up look if the team has a jungler , etc .

& one last question : Is there going to be a ranked system in dota2 ? you know a competition like that bronze silver thing in League of Legends .

Thank you :D

Well, normally, a team should have three supports (preferbly one who is a babysitter) and two carries (one who is a hard carry). The mid one should be one who can dominate early game. In one of my competitive match. My team was:

Radiant Top: Naga Siren, Jakiro
Radiant Mid: Pugna
Radiant Bot: Dazzle, Weaver

In this game, our team had no jungle which worked out fine. If we were to choose, we would swap Jakiro for a jungler, but he didn't pick one so deal with it. In this lineup, Naga Siren have to become the tank and initiator because we don't have a good one.

Of coz, there are many lane lineups, the one I mentioned is one of the fairly basic one. Obviously the mid one needs to know what he is doing or so and if he can, get a First Blood. If he keeps dying, there's a high chance your team's screwed. In the end, it all depends on your team like how many can play support effectively and how many can play carry effectively, blah blah.

Thanks
So usually 2 carrys won't go to the same lane ?
Each of them goes with a babysitter ?(in the build-up you mentioned , Dazzle & Naga Siren are babysitters right ?)

To answer the first part, yes. 2 carries normally don't go the same lane unless one is willing to support the carry. I think it would be better if I say this.

Scenario 1: (Carry + Carry)
Naga Siren and Drow Ranger goes radiant bottom lane. Both heroes require farm and kill to be effective. however, if the two keeps arguing for kills and farm, both will not be able to become effective later on. So, Naga Siren takes the role of the support with Ensnare and Rip Tide, helping Drow Ranger to get the kills and farm. Later on, Drow Ranger will be able to be more effective.

Scenario 2: (Carry + Support)
Drow Ranger and Jakiro goes on the radiant bottom lane. Jakiro will give farm and kills to Drow Ranger who needs both so she can be effective later on.

TO answer the second part, it is not compulsory to go with a babysitter. The reason why Dazzle goes with Weaver is because weaver is naturally very squishy and is harassed a lot so Dazzle can prevent him from dying with his skills.

Normally, a babysitter goes with a hard carry who is naturally squishy, such as Spectre and Weaver. If the carry can survive on his own, he will normally go with a more offensive-orientated support.

Oh and Naga Siren is a carry but her skills also allow her to play the role of an initiator and support.

Thank you so much
So let's see if I've got it straight : Carry goes in a line with a support(not necessarily a lane-support "babysitter")

And that's the difference between a support & a lane-support right ? , lane-support babysits a hard carry and someone like Weaver needs a babysitter but someone like Brewmaster who isn't that squishy , can go on a lane with an offensive support like venomancer .

You know I've always wondered about difference between these two :D

Just that Naga who you mentioned , what will he do in mid and late game ? I mean he's lost all that gold !(or should he play a support until end of the game ?)

Yep, you're right. Congratz.

You will get lots of assist gold so you can support to the end. Because Ensnare and Rip Tide does scale well in mid-late game, so she can survive that. Anyway, you can survive on the assist gold. She can choose to continue supporting or continue the path of carry which might be a little hard but still possible.

Your help is making me know many stuff that I didn't know .

I was navigating through heroes list , and came up with a question : Why isn't earth shaker counted as a lane-support(and just a support) ? He can babysit very well , with that disable he's got he should've no trouble saving his ally from enemies . just like lion who is a lane-support .

To be a lane-support, you need to have something called heal. Those with heal are Dazzle, Undying and so on.

However, Earthshaker is considered an offensive-orientated support due to his skills which deals damage, rather then heal his allies. So, stunning and disabling are not considered as 'heal' type skills.
