Is rushing or buying Aghanim's Scepter on Pudge a good choice? Or should you instead buy a Heart of Tarrasque or something else? I rarely see guides that recommend Aghanim's Scepter on Pudge, maybe because it is unnecessary? Aghanim's Scepter does allow Pudge to scale into the late game, yet it is rarely mentioned on guides. Is it a bad choice?

What do you think?

Personally, I think it's a waste. It's a lot of gold, and what does it give you? Additional damage, and a heal. If people claim it helps pudge scale into late game, that means that you're getting it for that purpose, yes? I mean, that's their argument. Late game, pudge doesn't need to do damage. That's not his role as a hero. He is typically used to initiate fights with hook and dismember. If there's a 5v5 going on, and he hooks one/dismembers them, he is most likely very close to full HP anyway, so the heal is somewhat wasted. The additional damage is also somewhat wasted because if you're counting on a pudge for his DPS late game, it sounds like you may need to work on your team composition/hero picks.

Ask yourself "What does my team need?" or "What is something that their team relies heavily on?". Then get items to either support your team, or counter theirs. Good suggestions for Pudge, imo at least would be: Force staff, shivas, shadow blade, pipe, halberd, heart, sheep, atos... Not necessarily in that order, but I feel that almost ALL teams can benefit from at least one force staff. Especially on a hero that is almost 100% reliant on his positioning, and is balanced out by his poor movespeed (http://www.dota2wiki.com/wiki/Movement_speed), you can make your pudge much stronger, or help allies or kill opponents. Force is also a much more dynamic pick up that scepter. You can use push for a lot of different situations, and it's almost always helpful, and very difficult to counter. Meanwhile your ult, unless you have BKB (Which I don't recommend), is pretty easily countered.

It's a good item, but it's not worth rushing, getting Pipe of Insight or Force Staff is way better. Followed up by Heart of Tarrasque or even Black King Bar. You have many options.

I would also recommend Blade Mail.He is beefy and his base armor is trash, he has a lot of potential for this.

You are completely right, I don't understand why people don't buy it to counter those carries that don't need a BKB ( Anti-Mage, Spectre, Morphling and most of all Phantom Lancer): people think that health points make you indestructible while, in fact, a Doom Bringer with a Heart but no Cuirass gets melt in a bunch of hits.
