In order to prevent clogging up other threads, I've decided to make a general thread for discussions relating to my squad in the Learn Dota 2 Spring League. Here, you can provide your two-cents on the results of our matches, look ahead to our opponents, find out when our next games are, offer advice or just provide words of encouragement!

Naturally, I'll be updating this thread as the season progresses and will be seeking input as it goes on.

Meanwhile some random thoughts now that I see the dotabuff of the games in case it helps:
  • Maybe rethink doing duo lanes. Unless you have a very specific objectif with it, they are useless and they affect the rest of your game, since you're only stealing the offlaner XP and the enemy team profits from you not pressuring other lanes. Notice that in both games your presence in the offlane is just a nuisance, since both Tidehunter and Nature's Prophet are offlaners which are supposed to survive the offlane on their own, and have very little killing potential, specially against trilanes like the ones you had. In the Lion game, for instance, you should be in top lane, getting easy kills on the Dark Seer with the combination of your heroes (more than enough disables and the purge from Oracle). So pick a support that can do more than just sit in lane, and goes roam/stack/secure runes/pressure, etc.
  • I know it's hard to resist comfort picks, but I would really advice you to stay away from Lich in these type of games. He's a very situational pick with specifics strenghts and weaknesses (killing potential in lane because slow, but has no real disable), and with these lineups he's pretty much useless. Instead go for supports like Lion, as you did, and Vengeful Spirit - the ceiling cap is not that high, they are pretty straightforward but super useful in almost any lineup.
  • When drafting, have a general strategy, but at the same time a plan B. Let's take your first game as an example: judging from the heroes picked, you were going for very strong teamfight, but then what happens if the enemy team has a Phantom Lancer that splitpushes you to death?
  • Also when drafting, try to either get that kind of flexible supports I mentioned before, and if you don't be careful with it's sinergy with the entire team and not just the one hero. Example: Picking a Dazzle to protect a Wraith King seems an overcommitment to a hero that has already one extra life, and you're getting a support that doesn't do much for your laning stage and which greatest asset - armor buff or diminishing - isn't completely used because the rest of your lineup is based on magical damage.
  • If you constantly play support, remember mobility is almost always a go-to choice when items are concerned, since a Force Staff can not only safe your life but also, and more importantly, save your core's life. In a game like your Lich one, some mobility is core, so after the Mek I would never go Aghs before having that Force up.
  • I can't but be sad about the fact that I see zero Enchantress picked or banned, when she is now a Tier 1 hero and you don't need micro to play her effectively (I'm proof of that). Having some heroes with different damage sources is a great asset, and she brings pure damage to the table. Buuuut this is just me fangaying :D

Just take it as some suggestions that might help, since I do not know that much about this game either but it's always good to have someone from the outside looking at our games and support is at least something I know a bit about and apparently you're playing it now :)
