So playing a hero who needs a big(4200 g can be a lot for beginners) item and can't fight without farm is good for beginners and in trench generally? Ayy lmao, why not get Naga then, you get ez Radiance, shift-queue your illusions and get ez money then repeat that x10000 times and go rek their base, I mean it's not like you can get 4 carries farming your jungle while your enemies just push your towers easily in tench, right? :DDDDDDDDDDD

If anything, heroes like Gyro and Weaver are good as AGI carries to start with, Gyro can fight without farm and is easy to play while having a decent midgame and lategame, Weaver can pick up MoC and go kill potato tier scrubs even if he gets no farm(which is possible only is you have another carry in your lane, Weaver can solo vs anyone in trench because invisibility is OP) while teaching ppl positioning, mana management and general awareness.

Battle Fury is an expensive Item, but it's easy to build up and certainly easy to use. It also takes away some of the pressure of Mana Management after a while, and eventually negates any need completely so you can focus on Split=Pushing / Teamfighting.

Maybe Gyro is a bit easier as a Hero over all (Mana Management aside), but not all beginners are capable of Microing a Helm of the Dominator Creep. If they can't do that, their Farm is going to suffer (even more). I suppose he could be more fun though.

Deso is a 3.5k Item, and without it, Weaver is pretty limited in impact. With it, he's still squishy and food for Burst Damage, which in this Meta == not fun. Also, that other Carry has to have enough sense to back you up when you go in...this is still the trench we're talking about...

Remember, in the trench, no one can Farm or have any Early-Mid Game impact...that's why they're in the trench...

I don't want any begginer EVER to AFK farm, because that makes for a very poor learning curve, a bad and difficult habbit to correct and big ego issues when the game sense and experience progress. Whereas if you teach someone to first contribute to the game in all stages, and learn how to teamfight, it's much easier to explain to them after that in which cases you can and you should AFK farm, and how to do it properly. Otherwise you end up with a lot of inflated big stars and many lost games, and at least for me that's not really funny :P

If people have egoes, it isn't from playing Hard Carry.

As I said new players are going to make mistakes, and with the "I'm going to afk Farm for 40 minues" issue, there's also another end to that spectrum, the "I'm a Support so it's fine if I only have Boots of Speed and Magic Stick at 20 minutes" end. People who prioritise attending teamfights and being "useful" to the team without any Farm of their own are just as big a liability as someone who afk Farms.

The Farming issue won't be due to any psychological problem, it'll just be that new players don't know how to Farm efficiently or how to notice an advantage in a fight. This can only be solved by experience, trial and error, and self-reflection. If thes players do have ego problems...well...that's probably some sort of irl issue. 8{P

My personal recommendation would be for heroes who are easy to relatively easy to get something done with, forgiving, and fun. The new players I've taught have struggled enough with the basic idea, controls, buttons etc, without having to master any difficult concepts or worry too much about what their abilities do or spending ages doing "boring" stuff like AFK farming. Most beginners want some action to get them hooked, then let them figure out the rest later on.

Strength: Wraith King

Why? He gives you a lot of room to make mistakes, and still recover from, thanks to Reincarnate. Don't even bother talking about mana burn at this level. One active skill only, nice and easy.

Agility: Ursa

Angry care bear. Go give big vicious hugs to opponents. Press Q, W or R to become angrier. Little more complex in terms of buttons, but it's pretty easy to spam them and be reasonably effective. Pretty tanky for an agi hero, so gives you a little more room for mistakes.

Intelligence: Lion

Narrowly beats Ogre Magi. It's not that he doesn't have a high ceiling for good play, but again he's relatively easy to get to grips with. It's nice and obvious what his abilities are doing - big spikey thing, turn into frog, refill blue bar, and ZAP POW DIE.

The problem with Viper is that you have a narrow window in which to be truly effective, all the ohter Heroes suggested are powerful at all stages of the game. You can still make plays with a Viper Late Game, but only with experience.

In order to make the most of that window, there are 2 things you can do:-

1) Get Fed by your opponents...quite likely in trench, but Lane against a smurf, or someone too scared to get close to you and you won't be able to Farm fast enough

2) Farm effectively, newbies can't make much more out of Free Farm compared to contested Farm since their inexperience is their own worst opponent, so this isn't really an option.

I may be a bit biased however I think that :razor: is decent for newer players. He's relatively forgiving due to his high move speed and slow with :unstable current:. He also has :static link: to drain damage while all the scrubby players are trying to kill the enraged ursa. He can harass enemies out of lane with :plasma field: and decent pushing potential with :eye of the storm:. He also falls off slightly less hard than some of the other people on this list because 228 damage is 228 damage no matter how long the game goes on. If you go for the general build of vanguard into agh's (I personally hate that build) than you can also be decently tanky.

Oh and what about blyat suka/pubseeker/bugattiseeker? It's really straightforward: Bloodrage for last hits/sustain, chase people down with Thirst, then of course the 'ol Rupture+ Blood Rite combo ensures most solo-kills at the scrub tier level. So ez katka?

Very nice ideas you brought to the table guys! I personally also feel like Viper and the concept of orb effect is better to be left to a second stage of learning, but Wraith King, Ursa and even Bloodseeker seem like good heroes to start and to hook someone in :)

What about Techies?...

eheh

I wouldn't say Meepo's that hard either.

...

In all seriousness, PA is really easy too. 2 active skills one of which you don't HAVE to use, and you just right-click people. And she's tanky.
