Hey, so I haven't been here for ages but anyway.
I played this game as furion --> http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/1631542367
and Now have a certain spot for him and would like to know general ways to improve/play him.
An example may be when to go right click build, rat build or a bit of both.
More so, what is the ideal escape mechanism.
Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers!
Your new diet for heroes; You will need 4 wards (cuz wards taste better), 1 set of tangoes, 1 mango, 1 cheese.
With this you can make a nice Tango Mango Cheese platter. You can wash this all down with a nice bottle of water, Can be flavoured with red, green, yellow, blue, purple AND GOLD!
Caution: Taking roshan 3 times is required.

That game just looks like it was a bad Furion game. Or at least bad for ratting Furion.

They have large amounts of global vision in the form of Zeus and Clockwerk, and made both traditional prophet escape items bad. ( Zeus can reveal you when invis, and they had so many ways to disable your blink (Well I say so many, Zeus and Sniper really, but they had good catch so both work well enough). Likewise they have a lot of catch for you when you run away. Lots and lots of catch

Oh and good depush as well. So the whole; rat the whole game, never help your team directly other than pressing R every now and again just isn't viable.

On the other hand, it seems like it would be a great Orchid Prophet game, because they are squishy and you have massive amounts of ganking potential. Like say BH right clicks as you tp in, your Sprout on the target, and that should be enough damage. Add in Clinkz and you've suddenly got amazing across the map ganking potential, gain massive amounts of gold from track, and kind of force them to group up instead where you can then leverage an economic advantage and split push more efficiently (Because if they send say just 1 person back you can just kill them, or force multiple tp's back). Doing that up until the point where you have like a 20-30k gold advantage and can just melt buildings.

Basically you should have built Orchid first, Clinkz should have gone RoA -> Soul Ring/ Bottle -> Desolator and then just go ham with ganks. That's how you should've progressed the game in theory, because whilst you did have semi-decent team-fight thanks to Witch Doctor you have much stronger skirmish, pick-off and split-push, and flat out better mobility. So you really could've done with abusing that.

Orchid into like a Force Staff -> Scythe of Vyse would be my suggestion. I say Force Staff because I think there are enough things to make the other two escapes meh.

EDIT; This is just looking at the hero composition, I haven't watched the game.

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

Dire had weak counterpush, weak teamfight, and 3 carries, 2 of which just can't teamfight early game (Slark and PL).

Radiant had 3 heroes who are very strong pushers, and no need to farm up since all heroes either come online instantly or can snowball off Track gold.

If I was playing Furion, I would rush Mekansm, group up, push, and end the game early. Between Mek and WD heal, you have tons of sustain, and Furion, Clinkz and WR wreck towers in a few seconds.

This was a bad game for rat Furion, since Slark and Clockwerk can pick off a rat Furion easily. But there is no bad game for Furion as a hero. Just adapt the build.

For me there are 3 main ways to play Furion : Rat Furion, deathball Furion (who pushes with his team), and ganking/semicarry Furion (who focuses on solo kills and damage items).

Since you had literally no way to win this game in the late game (you have no hero that deals with Phantom Lancer in the late game, and you don't have heroes that deal with Slark either)...obviously you lost since the game lasted 50 minutes. Well and your Clinkz had no items. Should have pushed early.

TLDR : There are other ways to play Furion than buying a Shadow Blade and split pushing all the time. And this way of playing him is pretty bad in the first place.

Blink Dagger. Quoting Bulldog himself here. Blink in the trees like Tinker does and TP out.
