I'm going to dispute that. ES is good only against those PLs who can't play PL. A good one doesn't care about Fissure because of the W, and can use that same W to juke an echo slam.

How? His {W} has a .1 cast time and Echo doesn't...

you can do that by anticipating ahead of time, but in te same way, a good es can wait for doppleganger to be used before blinking in and using ulti. also, echo slam has an instant cast time, so it is very herd to react to an es. a good pl can dodge maybe a fissure here and there, but in the same skill level, it is almost impossible to dodge echo slam.

Actually I was going to say Earth Spirit to counter Pudge. Because proper positioning and reactions on ES means Pudge can't do anything.
