I understand your reasoning. However Profit is usually swimming in gold with this build. Buying pretty much anything you want really. I usually have games with over 700 gold/min. Upgrading the Dagon is not really needed, and you can buy other things. Since you already have it and its taking up a slot might as well upgrade it. Granted you have the gold, I usually do. I find the burst damage from a level 5 Dagon is more useful in team fights than a build with crystalys. Thanks for your input, i don't mind criticism. Dota 2 is a very subjective game anyways. I just played a few games leaving the Dagon at level 1, and found I could replace the level with a desolator and Crit seemed to be more effective. Edited guide props.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but I don't think your build makes a lot of sense. Both Hand of Midas and Dagon need to be bought ASAP if you're going to get them - really it should be one or the other, not both. The other big issue is that you're advocating upgrading your Dagon! 1300 gold is a hellova lot for 2 intel and 100 extra nuke damage.

Prophet is actually a strong late game hero, with sufficient farm - sure he's not a hard carry, but his farming ability and mobility mean he can become very strong with the right items. If you saved all that money you're spending on Dagon receipes for Scythe of Vyse, Crystalys, Desolator etc you'll find you can output a lot of damage.

Again, this is meant to be constructive criticism, you've got a nice writing style and I agree with you on the Necronomicon being a useful item on Prophet.
