World Cup 2014

Discuss favorites, games, anything World Cup. My personal favorite is the NL. I'm kinda from there so slight bias. They'll probs beat CR but Argentina/Belgium will give them a hard time.

I didn't really follow the championship at all, just saw few matches because they were running on TV, yesterday Argentina played Switzerland and they won nicely by scoring a goal by minute 118, pretty cool.

I'm not sure who's going to win the whole championship though, I'd go for The Netherlands I think, not sure, didn't follow any of the teams at all.

Well, of course the Netherlands. That much is obvious :)

I think the germans will also have a pretty good chance to go all the way, anyway a germany netherlands final will be epic!

Don't follow much soccer, and only slightly sad that USA lost.

But here's the thing that gets me: most of the coverage today is very lovey-dovey about the US performance in the Belgium match. But USA got stomped on in that match! How many shots did Belgium have... 36?

Howard did a great job in net, but the odds of winning with 36 shots against is very low.

The commentator referred to the BelUSA match as Tim Howard vs Belgium. It's so true. He got the most saves in 50 years. Vincent Kompany the Belgian tweeted:
