When I see teams draft I see their draft being 2 things, an entire strategy (mostly push: lone, veno, lycan, brood and np or teamfight: enigma, warlock, void, puck and tide) or heroes they see picked by pro players (used to be a lot of nyx+naga, currently not so much).
When I usually draft I like to keep in mind the heroes who are LONG forgotten, but still way to good to pass up when none of the dendei heroes fit your team.
Ancient Apparition: He offers your team a lot of versatility, while being able to mid or support he can be picked up as a fifth pick (also good counter to slark and alchemist). He combines well with a carry+a support with a disable. He offers great teamfight as well.
Disruptor: This hero offers a lot of teamfight and gank, while lackingBURST. His ult and field can just wipe teams, while glimpse can be a really hard to deal with spell. He is a good combo with aa and Jakiro who are on this list as well.

Today i decided to try out Ursa because my friend told me i should. I was originally going to play Lycanthrope since i was more comfortable with him. My friend still managed to persuade me into picking Ursa. He said he was going to walk me through everything during my match. I got to admit, Ursa is a freaking beast and so much fun. I didn't know he was this easy to play with. The enemy was getting wrecked despite my team didn't speak english except for one guy. It was some European language that looked like russian but i know it was not russian. The characters did not match. Anyway, we dominated the other team with ease. I know they were gonna lose as long we kept the pressure because they had all squishy heroes. Although, they did managed to put up a good fight toward mid game, but i wasn't worried. So, let's start. After watching different competitive games and seeing how the meta has changed in the past month or two (especially after the 6.79 patch), I'm wondering why some Heroes didn't get considered at all: we saw Hand of Midas on supports, a huge amount of Elder Titan picks for a (relatively) small amount of time, the fall of Batrider and Io and, also, the rebirth of Luna. Many Heroes including Bristleback, Mirana and Slark became the trend of this period, but some others with (in my opinion) big potential just passed through the patch - some of them even untouched - without seeing any increase in their pick ratio.

This morning I had an okay game with Lycanthrope. The thing that frustrated me was that i got matched up with all Spanish speakers. Only one guy kind of know English. I have nothing against spanish speaker, it just frustrating when you can't communicate with them. I decided to jungle with Lycanthrope. I assumed they knew that i was jungling because I thought the matchmaking system will match me with people that have similar experience as i am. I was totally wrong. These guys knew nothing about support because they didn't buy wards (the opponent had Pudge) and couriers. I had to buy the couriers just so we have one (including the flying courier). They don't even know how the jungling process work. Tusk was our offlane hero. There seems to be a whole set of players who fall into the category of "habitual junglers" - you've probably seen them from time to time, the guys who insta-pick a hero like Nature's Prophet or Legion Commander and call it - you can mentally see them queuing up the Hand of Midas before the other team has even picked.

Now, these players will sometimes win the game convincingly for you, or sometimes cause you to lose it before it's hardly begun. Why? They're a habitual jungler, they've probably started playing this way because they can't handle having to actually lane against someone, and believe that jungling means they can avoid the early game entirely. They have one playstyle for all game situations - jungle.

Hello

I just played Sniper against a very tough team. I was solo mid against viper. My team was Bounty Hunter, kunkka, shadow shaman, Sniper and Lifestealer. The opposing team had Viper, Drow Ranger, Axe, Omniknight, and Disruptor. They had a huge start on us. About 10 minute into the game they started to gank each lane. They must've used smoke because our wards did not pick anything up when we got ganked. I was the first one to be ganked by their entire team. I was surprised by how fed they were because i could not do a thing to them. Anyway, they stuck together and push down all our towers until our base towers. I was worried, but thank goodness my team was able to regroup and started playing smart Dota. It all started when they tried to push down our mid base tower with their entire team. I believe i had a Mask of Madness and Desolator at the time. I took out three guys while my other teammates took out the remaining two. We needed that team wipe so badly. We were able to push down…

Just lost a 4v5 match(we with handicap) which was easily in the bag. Then clinkz and prophet decided instead of finishing the game they will 1v5. WHat the hell is wrong with people in ranked MMR?
