I've been thinking about Linken's Sphere. I feel like the item is slowly becoming more and more irrelevant as each patch comes out: it was given the ability to be used on other people, its cost has shrunk significantly over the past few patches (the recipe getting reduced to 1K gold flat in 6.87!) and it's cooldown is 13! Down from 20 back in the day. And yet...

Who... buys this item? Does anyone?

The natural heroes that come to wind are Medusa, Morphling, and Weaver, yet it's becoming far more common to skip this item in favor of other things: Medusa and Morphling get much more out of an Eye of Skadi, and Weaver... well, I'm a Phase/Deso guy on Weaver, but that's another thread entirely.

It straddles this odd line of not knowing what type of item it wants to be. The fact that you can transfer the spellblock makes it seem like a support item, but at almost 5K gold and having two 1K+ costing components, it's difficult for a four or five position to get this item unless y…

Borrowed time is an instant cast ability that allows Abaddon to come back to the previous HP state 4/5/6 seconds , before casting the ability.

I know it sounds like time walk, but you can cast it while being stunned. And here is the kicker

Borrowed time allows Abaddon to cheat death when it is off cool down and returns him to 4/5/6 seconds previous to his state and allowing him to steal 15/25/35% current HP from his attempting killer.

Looks like borrowed isn't it?.....

Now how about his aghs upgrade?
Casting borrowed time allows Abaddon to heal back 50% of the damage done to his allies 5/6/7 seconds back. Range:900

To increase the quality of posts here at dotafire, i am creating a small series of blog that may run big if you lot come to love it. The series of discussions will concentrate on what would happen if certain hero abilities or game mechanics are tweaked.

The general objective is to challenge people to think new and break boundaries and find new ways to play Dota. If not play better, understand the how and why of a hero or an ability better.

I'm going to try something a little different here: no, this is not the followup to Safecyn's Sinister Six where I attempt to play Legion Commander, that's... coming? Probably? I don't know, because I don't actually have any desire to play this hero.

The new Blade Mail, discussion and usage on Crystal Maiden

Hello guys I'm presenting you may thaughts about Blade Mail. I will give a closer look on using the item on Crystal Maiden. To start off, I will explain how the item works and what changed during this patch, which made it in my eyes a legit pick up for Crystal Maiden and many more heroes.

So what the item does is rather simple. It returns damage. It has always been an item that returned damage and it still is. Traditionally this item was bought by tanky heroes and especially tanky heroes who force to fight against them. Those heroes were Legion Commander, Axe and Clockwerk. Other heroes where a Blade Mail was sometimes spotted on were Centaur Warrunner , Huskar, Bristleback and Undying. Sometimes other heroes would purchase the item as well but tend to lose or get reported by teammates. I think we can say that blademail was a rare item which was countered by bkb.

Why hello there! I bet you're all wondering what I've been up to! Even if you're not interested, too bad! Because I'm going to tell you anyways! Since I've apparently managed to get a month ahead in classes, I decided to play some dota this past week... with a TWIST!

Sure, some of you might be curious about the #roadto2k and rightly so, but after seeing what happened to our good friend Xyrus, I've decided to put ranked play on hold for the time being, in order to avoid the burnout or worse, lose the ability to have fun playing this game. (But if you MUST know where I'm at, you'll be pleased to know that I'm sitting pretty at 1.5K, the halfway point so to speak)

It's actually convenient that I bring up the whole 2k Quest and the brutal MMR burnout because it does segue more or less into the aforementioned twist I've implemented this past week. What could this twist possibly be? I've done nothing press the Random Button for each match I played this week!
