Lone Druid - TheSofa

Thump. Thump. Thump.

Sylla's heavy footsteps pounded against the rocky earth, leaving shallow footprints only to be gently washed away by the falling rain. His eyes scanned the horizon, searching and searching for a cave, at rocky outcrop, anything that would shelter him from the weather. Sylla looked up at the sky again, and, seeing the dark, ominous clouds, he began to pick up his pace. Rain and sweat dripped down his forehead as he finally sighted a cave, not too far in the distance. As he approached the cave, he noticed uneven marks on the ground. Footprints? As he bent down to look closer, he realized that they were, in fact, not footprints, but paw-prints. He cautiously moved closer to the cave. Putting down his heavy pack, he peeked inside. What he saw took his breath away. Inside, was a small cub, with a pool of blood on the floor beside it. Sylla quickly opened his pack and took out some cloth and water. At first, the cub growled at him, but after showing it that he meant no harm, Sylla set to work.

Years later

"NO!!" Sylla screamed. "How dare you!"
Deflecting a spear, he made a quick work of the three remaining soldiers. He knelt down at the dead body of his friend.

"I will never forget you, Bear. Never."

Tears streamed down his face, clouding his vision. As he wiped them off his bloodshot eyes. To his despair, the body of the bear had disappeared. Then, he heard a small, friendly growl behind him. He turned around, and to his utter amazement, there stood his Bear, his friend, and what seemed to be like another part of him. He wrapped the bear in a hug, oblivious to the rainbow, shining above their beautiful reunion.

"we will not leave Mt Joerlak, she's our mother, our creator and the Magnoceros do not leave their kin behind!"
with this, Magnus, the protector of the Magnoceros made his decision and walked out.Nobody dared question the decision of the last stalwart of the once-great Magnos guard who were responsible for keeping the hunters at bay.The elders did not agree with magnus, but the fact that Magnus remembered these "elders" as little children scuttering about the walls looking up to the huge disciplined soldiers on their regular patrols, did not help. All his life, he had been trained to protect the herd, protect the land and he was going to just that because Magnoceros do not believe in chance and do not change their mind.

But even the iron strong will of the Magnus began to crack when the Mt.Joerlak burst open, resulting in the catastrophic near extinction of his race. Given no choice, the remaining herd limped its way towards the northern reaches of the great mountain where another disaster was brewing. A hundred hunters, divided by greed but united by the greatest of them all, the one they called Beastmaster, were waiting for them.As the Magnoceros advanced their vanguard to break throught the hunter line, the suddenly one of the magnoceros in the center of the formation, a big muscled iron smith, started to break the vanguard while his kin looked at him helplessly.

Magnus, at the head of the vanguard turned around to meet the murderous wave of hunters with his horn, the legend of the guard coming to haunt the hunters as they were pushed back by him.It wasn't enough to stop the advance of the hunters, so he used the ultimate technique in the handbook of a magnos guard, bestowed only on those who were deemed worthy for the great responsibility that would be laden on them.Time stopped. For a moment, all that was moving forward near Magnus, it stopped dead in its tracks. Karroch, the beastmaster, could not believe what was happening.suddenly everyone was running backwards, towards each other, and the beastmaster knew that they had lost. Harnessing the ancient power the land he revered, Magnus had managed to reverse the properties of matter, making them converge on one point thus preventing the hunters from reaching the herd. The vanguard broke but, fortunately, not in time for the hunters to attack, protecting the magnoceros from them. Then Using the Mythical Kelens's dagger which he had retrieved from the thief's dying body, Magnus made his way back to the herd

Magnus knew what had happened. The Beastmaster had used Beast-talk to take over the simple minded Ironsmith."Hear me Karroch! We do not forget, we do not forgive! Whosoever brought the fires of Mt. Joerlak down upon my kin, know this: You are craven. I shall track you down, and once I do, you shall die upon my horn. Slowly." said the Last of the Magnos guard, his wrath unsatiable, his resolve unbreakable.

Sorry for the late post guys, been having a pretty busy week and have been too tired to write most nights. But here it is, Faceless Void's rewritten lore.
Darkterror, the Faceless Void

The Faceless were beings of great power and status. Possessing unrelenting strength, unmeasured speed, and unmatched intelligence they were feared and respected by all creatures of Claszureme. Darkterror was only one in a long lineage of powerful leaders, warriors, and thinkers that had become legend in the texts and archives of the Faceless. A high born child, Darkterror was raised with the highest degree of skill and discipline. Destined to become a being of great power and wisdom among the denizens of Claszureme, a realm that had once been on the brink of destruction.

Claszureme began as an unstable entity among the planes of existence, a bastard child of the void that should not have existed. Time was in constant fluctuation thus making the dimension highly unstable and volatile. The Faceless knew that should this imbalance continue it would be the end of everything. So to correct these anomalies the Faceless created a construct of immense power known as the pillar of time. This object of great power focused the space-time continuum and balanced the flow of time that held the planes of existence in check. It was what held the fabric of reality together, and thus the pillar's protection was of the greatest importance.

Darkterror was steeled and tempered in the most exhausting tests of endurance, had his sharp mind tested against the most complex of puzzles, and had his resolve pushed to the limits with decisions that would shape his life forever. No matter how hard the test though Darkterror passed them all with ease, as though the answer was clear to him all of the time. Soon the overlords of the Faceless took notice of this pupil; passing test after test faster than any in the history of Claszureme. And with that, they knew what the boy was destined for all along.

On a calm night a voice called out to the fledgling apprentice, almost like a whisper. "Come young one, your destiny awaits." As Darkterror followed the cooing voice to its source he came across what appeared to be some kind of doorway. With confidence and curiosity he approached the door and felt a brief flash of energy before he realized he was no longer where he originally was. Instead he was in a large, cavernous room covered in strange glyphs and writing that he could not decipher. And in the center of the room was a massive pillar that seemed to emit a strange aura about it. "This structure is the reason for our continued existence" the strange voice chimed. Darkterror turned to find himself face to face which an audience of the high overlords of Claszureme. And in the center was none other than the Prime overlord himself, the most powerful being in all the realm. "It has been prophesized that one would rise above the rest, one that would bring Claszureme into a new age of peace, one that would be the guardian of Claszureme forever more. The Pillar of Time chose you to lead us into this new age, Darkterror." He was overwhelmed with the burden of duty as the Prime overlord led him to the pedestal which held the pillar. "Place your hand upon the pillar and claim your destiny." As Darkterror placed his palm upon the pillar a massive surge of energy filled his veins, and his mind faded to black.

From that moment on Claszureme did enter a new age. There was no conflict, no war, no bickering, and no strife. However, there were also no rivers running, no children giggling as they ran through the markets, and no winds blew through the lush forests. For from that moment on, time ceased to exist in the realm of Claszureme. Stories are told in the taverns and around campfires of a creature from another dimension that has set its sights on their world because of the war of the ancients. A being that was immortal, as though he was not bound by the laws of time. One that wielded a weapon that froze those who opposed him in time, the weapon known simply as 'Epoch'. Perhaps this visitor believes that by destroying these ancients he will gain the power to restore his homeland to what it once was. Whatever the reason for his part in this war, Darkterror seems to be committed to this war no matter how long it may take. Unlike others however, he has time on his side.

Hope you guys enjoy :)
