Diffusal is really good on riki. It gives more damage than basher, burns mana, and the active purge combined with the silence and miss chance of Smoke Screen is almost like a stun.

Diffusal Blade: it has a reliable slow that works wonders with your Smoke Screen, plus it gives AGI for the Backstab. The Basher is only useful if you want to turn it into an Abyssal Blade because the enemy carry is too farmed, and even in that case I wouldn't rush it.

Both are usually good to get on Riki, since the facts have been stated above, no reason to repeat :P.

In addition, the faster you get these items, the better it'll be. Especially the Diffusal Blade, one of my favorite items.

I think it's a matter of preference, though Diffusal Blade is in general better. You can get a Skull Basher if you plan on having extra attack speed later for it to proc.

Personally I would go Diffusal Blade -> Black King Bar -> Manta Style almost every time, but getting a Skull Basher -> [Abyssal Blade]] later on is certainly good for Locking your prey down, and by that point, you'll have more than enough Attack Speed to get your money's worth from the Procs.

Preferably both, but since diffusal is much better early becouse you attack speed isnt that high early its better to delay your basher a bit.

So as xyrus said: diffusal, BKB, manta, basher/abyssal.
You can switch the order up a bit, for example an early basher/abyssal can be great against some heroes.

Both! But, diffusal first.

I usually go Power Treads --> Diffusal Blade --> Black King Bar --> Skull Basher --> Butterfly --> Abyssal Blade

Diffusal, definitely, because it can also be used on yourself to purge dust. Failing that, if you want to solve problems you have as Riki, pick Slark.
