EarthShaker Carry?

hi all

i like es and i play him reasonably well, i go a basic support initiator build and most times my team does well, But recently ive been playing and ive seen a es going mid then building ...

shadow blade>arcane>crystallis>deadalus> then usually a high dmg item>then blink but it differs

i thought hey ... i can see the theory behind it 400% damage plus 150 plus chain stun and if lucky a crazy high crit...

jumped on my smurf and had maybe 4 good games out of 8 as a carry es

only thing though ...

when is this viable in games?
what position would this be a good pick?
can someone give me the complete theory behind this?

its viable.but only no farming skill.no mobility (except blink dagger).

viable in games where opponent is playing defensively.it will be a bomb in an aggressive tri-lane.

good in maybe #2 not #1.

EDIT: oh boy.just noticed that it Enchant Totem only increases the damage based on base damage.not the bonus damage :(

yea thats why i see people going a armlet as well sometimes ...

armlet>enchant totem> shadow blade...

500.4 dmge before reductions, then if crystal crit ur looking at 763.6 damage before reductions on the first hit.

i played with an es on my smurf that went

arcane>armlet>shadow blade>cristalys>battle fury ...

we were up against a lina drow sniper lion darkseer, he was nearly 20 kills in by 30 mins

position 2#, yea i thought that as well. and i dont see him viable as a carry unless ur versing some seriously low hp heroes.

and playing him as anything apart from his clasic build will be a drain on the team.

It's a Ganking build, Shadow Blade works wonders to make a carry miserable. I made it work in a solo queue ranked game, I was kinda forced into mid vs a pudge, and Enchant Totem melted his face, I ended up with phase boots] [[drums of endurance Shadow Blade daedelus by the 25min mark, but I wasn't up against very much common sense, and in the core role I was placed I was afforded the opportunity to be greedy, absolute nightmare snowball.
I advise you only try it if you find yourself in a situation where your team needs the damage or you end up in a core role somehow, Shadow Blade had its uses in team fights to set up Fissure and Echo Slam.
Note: I was also aggressively warding, 150-300g to catch a jungle farming carry with their pants down was nice. When you one shot a support with huge crits, it's entertaining too.
Just to reinforce what was already said: he's an initiator, don't play him as a carry unless the situation calls for it, in that case you're not a carry per-say, more of a 1-on-1 glass cannon Ganking machine.

Yes it only stacks with stats, drums aids in this, but you still get the crits from daedelus just not the bonus +81 damage (I think). It really doesn't matter, Enchant Totem has a low cool down, and you also have Fissure and Aftershock so it's not as if you're suffering too much.
drums of endurance is fantastic because it provides solid stats and more mana, boosting your damage, regen and mana pool. Even built normal, his boosted stats from aghs, a sheep stick etc will provide bigger totems.

I've only played against one carry Earthshaker, and OH MY GOD THE CRITS!!!! He was dealing way over 1000 damage per hit and had a Battle Fury. I believe his whole item set was Shadow Blade, Daedalus, Heart of Tarrasque, Battle Fury, Arcane Boots, and Armlet of Mordiggian. And to answer the issue addressed before, yes Enchant Totem does not multiply for example the +81 damage from Daedalus, but does multiply the damage from Heart of Tarrasque. Honestly, I feel that carry Earthshaker is not viable in most cases. I would only really consider it if you're going up against a lot of squishey heroes or you already picked Earthshaker but your team needs a carry.

legit question lads may sound noob but when it says crit chance of 160% does that me when u do 100 damage and it crits you do 160 dmg or 260 dmg? ... i get confused sometimes haha and does PA's ulti include bonus damge?

Ok, so by a chance for a crit of 160% I assume that you mean damage? If so then you would deal 100•1.6 or 160. (or at least to my understanding) You could always check the wiki if that helps. :D

this is a game where a friend of mine went carry as ES and it was a total stomp.

I haven't tried Earthshaker carry for years. But I'll look in to it. I think he is the only one who I haven't carried with. I carried with: Nyx Assassin, Windranger, Necrophos, Visage, Lion, Ogre Magi, Bane, Lina, Crystal Maiden, Silencer, Keeper of the Light, Rubick, Shadow Shaman, Disruptor, Lich, Warlock, Enigma, Vengeful Spirit, Venomancer, Witch Doctor, Pugna, Ancient Apparition, Shadow Demon, Sand King, Omniknight, Treant Protector. Yup basically all except Earthshaker. I'll try and I won't fail.
