I was just wondering are there any heroes that stand out in this game mode? Just wondering.

Seems like everyone wants to pick Pudge in Diretide

I would say maybe invisible heroes like Clinkz, Bounty Hunter and Riki or mobile heroes like Storm Spirit and Anti-Mage... Nature's Prophet is also a very convenient hero to use in Diretide :D

If you can utilize his Fire Remnants, Ember Spirit is also an easy Diretide hero.

Unless of course you're asking about the best heroes to down Roshan quickly. I suppose maybe Bloodseeker, Magnus and perhaps Pudge...?

I think invisible Heroes are useless, as there's true vision around the pumpkins; same for Ember Spirit as he loses all his candies while using the ultimate.

I found Clockwerk and Disruptor very useful for defending your base: the Power Cogs deter melee Heroes, Battery Assault can prevent blinkers from escaping if you're fast enough; as for Disruptor, Glimpse obviously nullifies the usefulness of Mirana, QoP, AM and Force Staff carriers.

As said before, Mirana, Queen of Pain and especially Anti-Mage are overused because of their escape mechanisms; AM at least is almost as common as Pudge. I still don't like the latter though: unless you can communicate with a teammate so you can hook him away when he needs to, he's not good.

Also, just for fun, you can have a Nature's Prophet and a Zeus in the same team to instakill any player with 10+ sweets past level 16. Add global/teamfight Heroes if you want more safety.

Ah, sorry about that. I didn't know Ember Spirit loses candies while using his ultimate. Just played him in a Diretide game just now and found out only then :/

Magnus is a nice Diretide hero, played him for the first time in Diretide earlier and we thrashed the enemy team 101 candies to 29 :D

Slark is a pretty good Diretide hero.
Pounce to the pumpkin, hit it with the ridiculous attack speed that is always built on him, Pounce (short cooldown on later levels) or Shadow Dance your way out. Once you activate your ult, you cant be hit (except AOE) and will be moving near max movespeed if you have boots and Yasha. His Pounce can also lock down anyone trying to steal candies or escape, though those with blink abilities can still escape.
"Windranger" is not how you spell Windrunner.
