This thread just needs to be made. Radiance on Puck. Discuss.

Phase Shift doesn't disable the Radiance burn. I just double-checked it in lobby.

Essentially Puck can kite enemies endlessly while radiance burning them...

Sick new meta or sick new meta? :)

hehe, I actually thought of this long time ago, when I first started playing. It was dismissed as stupidity tho.

The radius is actually quite small, at 700. Since puck weaves in and out of fights, he won't be burning people all the time.

And the damage component is useless.

And you have to spend your mid game buying it, missing your timing window.

And that money could be spent on and Agh's, or Eul's + blink, or almost a scythe.

Have you though how this would works outside of your perfect teamfight vacuum?

How are you gonna get it in a relevant time window?
What will you do with silences and stuns(remember you won't be able to get Eul's vs Orchid in a relevant time without making your build a useless mishmash)?
What if you are focused down or picked off i.e by Barider or Legion Commander?
What are you gonna do with bare Radiance the remaining 2.75 seconds when Phase is on CD?
What if you game is going bad and you are just fooling around with 3k gold in you pocket and no value items?

Lastly, why not pick say WK for that and burn people for an extended time AND be useful outside of that?

To not degrade it into "I have void with global chrono and 20 slots 10 of which are Rapiers" level of text doto I suggest that you just try it out in legit matches and share the results. Doesn't have to be Ranked ofc. That's the best thing to do when you've come up with an idea and are not sure, that's how I tested my Luna build and that's how I tried to make SB-Armlet Brew work until I realised it sucks(Blink/Drum-Armlet may be still the real **** tho).

Why not just go test it out in a few games against people? It's what I did with Aratdon, Octarine DK, and Blademail-Aghs-Octarine Razor, and I got the answers I wanted.

Unless we're being trolled, in which case,

While I completely understand your point my dear dotafirean friends, I think you're forgetting the crucial part.

Puck has no item scaling.

You buy Blink Dagger, the hero is maxed out. That's the only item he ever needs. The only question is what do you buy after blink.
Euls is good against silence, but there isn't silence in every game, and orchid buyers are pretty obvious to spot before they finish it. Sure you buy it situationally, but it's like 1 game out of 5 or something.
Aghs is OK against mass BKBs, but it's more like a late game item, it doesn't help you snowball in any way.
Dagon 5 / Eblade does help you snowball, but then you just bought a Dagon 5 on a hero that isn't Tinker, so you kind of threw the game by doing just that. Besides Puck is hardly a nuker in the first place, he's got what, 550 burst damage maximum? There's no way a dagon Puck can combo down heroes anyways. Also, might I mention, Radiance is far cheaper than Dagon 5.

The right-click of radiance isn't wasted my dear friends. On the contrary. Since Puck's nuke damage is very low, his only way of dealing damage is right-clicks. Good mobility makes you a better right-clicker than anything else, just look at Storm for example. Or QoP, or Furion.

I actually consider it a form of discrimination that people don't acknowledge that intelligence heroes have exactly the same right-click potential as agility or strength heores. People don't mind seeing right-click builds on Mirana but they flame CritPucks. Why? I think there needs to be some legal protection against this kind of abuse.

Help Puck being a damage-dealing position 2 hero and not just a position 3 CC machine.

Being a bit lazy and since you demand replays, I will content myself with just linking the following.

If you find yourself snowballing and/or in Position 2 anyway, sure, go for it. I react much the same as to the 4 battlefury bounty hunter, the synergy is there, but it requires some awfully specific circumstances. If you're snowballing, it doesn't really matter what you buy anyway, unless its rapier.

That's really way too lazy to prove anything :P If this kind of watch-this-one-replay works, then Bunkan's Eye of Skadi Crystal Maiden is legit, and I refuse to believe that kappa

Now seriously: it seems like an interesting idea, although I do not agree that you can compare Puck's right click at all with a QoP or Storm, but the argument remains, just because a very bizarre build works once in a high level game of some guy doesn't mean it's reliable. So I'm also waiting for your replays with the build to judge it.

Puck has no item scaling?

That don't matter, because Scythe of Vyse. Eul's Scepter. Refresher Orb.

Disables on items do not require the hero to *scale well* they're just game winning :P

Disables are game winning...unless your team deals zero damage that is, in which case the only value of disables is the damage Puck can deal during them with the right clicks of a baby Butterfly.

Let's look at the typical game. You are playing mid Puck. You buy disable items, so you deal no damage. Your carry isn't farmed yet, so he deals no damage either. Your offlaner goes for a utility build like most offlaners do. So you have the patented Zero Damage Team (TM), one of the most surefire ways to throw pubs. See, you can win dota without a single stun, but you can't win dota without damage.

So either you think that Puck is just a garbage hero because position 3 heroes can't go mid, or you try to make a build that has decent damage output through the mid game because if you don't deal damage, who will?

How to build Puck to deal damage? You don't have many choices. It's either that or Dagon 5. Or CritPuck :)

Seriously, compare with radiance Void. Or Naix. Radiance is such a good item right now that radiance builds are starting to pop up on heroes on which you'd have thought it would be ******ed a year ago.

And I maintain that there is some form of discrimination because Puck is an INT hero. While primary attribute is one of the most overrated things in this game. I could almost make a separate thread on this.

Radiance on puck is totally fine. Puck has almost no damage after the midgame but she stays really long in fights since she is so slippy that Radiance can easily do an extra 200 damage to every hero in a teamfight. A dagon would only burst one hero and Radiance still gives a misschange and disables every blink.

I personaly never liked Puck as a mid hero since the only thing she offers is a decent gank, some damage and some sort of disable so I think she is mostly better as an oflane hero but whatever.
