A hero-pool of around 5 heroes is a must if pushing for mmr..
When pushing from 2.2k to 3k I mostly used these heroes :

1.) Necrophos
2.) Slardar
3.) Windranger
4.) Anti-mage
5.) Alchemist

I mostly play carry but the occasional healer necrophos was what I played if the team needed a support or the carry needed baby-sitting.

Also, try TA if u can. Very good laning and can end games before 30 mins very often.

If you want to raise mmr asap, try mastering Broodmother she's an insane hero, and can completely take over games and get rax by 20mins, ending games by 30mins.

step one.

pick od.

step two....

there is no step two because OD doesnt lose.

seriously i dropped to 4.4 and won maybe 200 mmr in 2 days just playing OD.

broken hero OSFrog Pls Nerf

btw

some points from a successful smurf recali

- you are not playing on your smurf a Better version of you is... play like it, think like it, act like it.
- blame yourself for everything and be super positive. or well listen to loud music.
- have a playlist of songs which make you feel good but dont distract you.
- pick 5 heroes to go the distance.
- play the role you feel you are best at.
- talk... a **** ton like i never stop talking chatting ( cough * swearing* cough ) even if its just about what your buying. if you reason it people will talk about the reasons and from there.... TA DAAA communication!!!!
- if you start to tilt. or lose 3 games in a row. stop playing for that day.

anyway GL sofa-sama! may gaben be with you hopefully we can see you soon up in the trenchs of 4k

I WILL DESTROY YOU ALL.... WITH FLUFFY BUNNIES

I really wanted to play Od there was a time in which I was a good mid player. Now I...well suck at mid. It's pretty amazing tbh.

Do you really find listening to music useful? I never tried it and the idea does for some reasons not appeal to me - the same goes for communication.
Gonna stay in 3k forever appearently.

ok, to keep yourself from raging or feeling too stressed, music helps. A lot. like really its amazing. that is, if you have the right songs on, like maybe beethoven 5th symphony instead of some gansta rap stuff.

...

ok bad example. but my point is, you could try putting music that calms your nerves, or go the opposite and keep yourself hyped at all times, depending on which state you play best in. right music for the right person.

communication is super important, in most pubs the team that has the most useful communication is most likely to win.

If I'm gonna listen to music whilst playing, I mute the hero dialogs. That generally helps. Also, always keep the volume of dota higher than the music.

{POLL HERE!}

Yea, thanks guys!

I think I have Puck locked in as my #3 pos... because I love that hero and I love playing that hero.

I also have to agree Lion is a good pick for #4 / #5.

I like Spectre or Anti-Mage and I have recently spammed both TA and WR on my main account.

Community Poll #2: Templar Assassin, Outworld Devourer, or Zeus?

I like all three, but I haven't played as much OD as I have played the other two.

And yes, I do listen to music when I play. But that music is usually classical music. For example, this week I'm going to listen to both Beethoven's Pathetique and Chopin's Nocturne in C# Minor. Why? Because I'm performing those two on Saturday. :)

Cheers!

Voting for Templar Assassin because she remained untouched for a pretty long time, Outworld Devourer will get nerfed like it's the eclipse of sanity and Lanaya can actually win her lane.
Maybe I will try listening to Requiem while playing my next game....
