Poll Question:

How this this rework?
Bad, Cuttles needs to get cancer and die
Not Needed, PA does not need a semi-remake
Good, but wants some improvements
It's Good
PA is a cutie

As Icefrog has been patching the game, he's been looking to eliminate many of the RNG of the game. We're also in a stage where evasion and miss chance are basically a joke. I haven't had any proper full hero ideas, but I think I've come up with a rework for PA that makes her more versatile and more fun to play. It lets her more likely midlane, control enemies, teamfight better, and also less easily countered.

Dota 2 Model: She looks happy. I think she deserves it.
20 + 2 (gain up 0.15)*23 + 2.8 (gain down 0.25)15 + 1.7 (gain up 0.3)

Armor: 4.7 (up 0.48)
Affiliation: Dire
Damage: 46-48 (same)
Base Health Regen: 1.5 (up from 0.25)
BAT: 1.7
Range: 128
Missile Speed: Instant
Movespeed: 300 (down from 310)
Sight Range: 1800/800
Voice Actress: Gin Hammond
Lore:
Once upon an midnight dreary, a girl went and killed her first little deary. Then afterwards, a crowned skeleton, and beyond that, a weird alien with fancy jewelry.

Abilities:

Stifling Dagger (This skill remains the same)
Throws a dagger which deals pure damage and slows the enemy unit's movement speed, while also applying attack effects from items and abilities.
Cast Time: 0.3 cast point+0.47 backswing
Cast Range: 1200
Creep Damage: 60/100/140/180
Hero Damage: 30/50/70/90
Move Speed Slow: 50%
Mana Cost: 30/25/20/15
Slow Duration: 1/2/3/4
Cooldown: 6
Flavor Text: The first skill learned by the Sisters of the Veil often signals an incoming hit.
Notes: Disgusting, an unchanged skill, you call this a remake?

Flash Step
Mortred teleports a short distance (point target), applying a blind to enemies within a 300 radius of the starting and destination point. Phantom Assassin destroys any trees she passes through.
Cast Time: 0.3 cast point+0.77 backswing
Miss Chance: 30/40/50/60%
Maximum Distance: 600/675/750/825
Duration: 6
Mana Cost: 50/55/60/65
CD: 12
Flavor Text: A Phantom's strike always opens with a step of blinding light, so that the prey does not even see what is coming.
Notes: This is a new variation on Phantom Strike, with more uses for being able to move around, and applies a blind so that heroes cannot fight back against her as she wails on them, instead of it being passive. The attack speed portion was moved to her passive.

Killer Instinct (Passive)
Phantom Assassin's attacks will grant her an attack speed boost. Additionally, she becomes able to detect enemy heroes that are nearby and will fade from minimaps if they are not nearby. Toggle this to prevent the attack speed portion it from activating.
IAS for PA: 35/50/65/80
IAS Duration: 6
Detection Range: 1000/1200/1400/1600
Cooldown: 12
Flavor Text: The Sisters of the Veil were trained to quickly slay their foes, without any fear or hesitation.
Notes: This combines the detection of her Blur with an attack speed buff for a simlar purpose of critting heroes, but also for farming, as well as something for her allies if they happen to be there. The Blur detection mixed with Flash Step makes her a much better scout now.

Coup de Grace (Passive)
Allows Mortred a chance to deal critical damage to a target. This chance is doubled against low health opponents. If you do not attack for 10 seconds, the next hit will crit at a lesser default value, but the higher chance to crit will still be present. The 3x critical portion also applies to Stifling Dagger.
Critical Chance: 12/16/20%
Critical Amount: 3x
"Initial" Crit Amount: 2x
Doubled Threshold: 30/35/40% health
Doubled Crit Chance: 24/32/40%
Flavor Text: A divine strike, Mortred honors her opponent by choosing them for death.
Notes: It's similar to before, but now it's more likely to kill targets that are low on health and now you can set it up, at the cost of some of her sustained damage, but 3x crit is also more predictable and fair amount.

Agh Scepter Upgrade: Adds the Ability Revolution.

Revolution

Grants all heroes (BOTH ALLIES AND ENEMIES) on the map a chance to deal a 2x critical strike. Revolution removes true strike. If this procs with Coup De Grace, it will deal Coup de Grace's damage, but the target will be disarmed for 2 seconds (magic immunity piercing), but on other heroes, if Revolution procs with their crits, Revolution takes precedence. Revolution can be purged.
Mana Cost: 100
Critical Chance: 45%
Duration: 15
Cooldown: 115
Flavor Text: Mortred always had a bit of a talent for uprisings, whether from people she killed or simply joining the crowd herself sometimes
Notes: A nice ability to give PA some unconventional teamfighting power. Essentially, it gives her a chance to disarm a target and make her miss chance even deadlier, or augment a another hero with it.

I like Flash Steps, didn´t undestand really well Killer Instintc, it´s something like Troll Warlord's Fervor? Or the IAS is present all the time? Didn't understand the ultimate either, I mean, when an enemy is below 40% she crits for 3x but with an increased chance, right?, but you are missing the point of the original Coup which is a huge crit that can one shot an enemy from full health. Still your ultimate is better against high hp targets since you will have more chances to crit and you are not going to kill them in one shot anyways. I really like PA the way she is now even when she was nerfed a few patches ago. Still I like your idea.

Just because Ice*** removed backtrack doesn't mean he hates RNG. Although I would like the flash step and new blur, she would become Just fine. Even without this unfathomable revolution ability, god knows what you are writing because I understood nothing out of that. No sarcasm, just being serious.

Alright, let me explain her skills. I've also edited some numbers that seemed too high.

Stifling Dagger is the same. Still her chasing ability and harassing ability.

Flash Step is a blink-type skill that blinds people where she leaves and goes (mechanics like Poof), she destroys trees so she can't just jump into trees and tp out.

Killer Instinct has Blur's detection method (reduce at early levels due to Flash step giving her a better escape now), and the attack speed bonus is only available half the time, and you can turn it off if you want to save it for killing.

New Coup De Grace is similar, except now it operates on a lower crit amount, has a guaranteed element, and lets her easily finish off low health heroes (which is what a coup de grace is, a finishing blow), making her a good burst hero.

And Revolution gives both allies and enemies a crit chance, a high one at that. They can dispel it, since it removes true strike and she'll be applying miss chance with Flash Step, but then they are down the advantage of crits while her team still has them. Also, she'll have 2 crits, normally if they both proc, the higher one will take priority. For enemies, Revolution would override their Daedaluses, for her however, if she manages to proc both, she'll get her Coup De Grace, but also disarm you through BKB so she can control the battle and give her team a crit advantage.

Not sure PA needs a rework, just minor buffs to her skills... improved Strength gain wouldn't be amiss, either.

How Ice could buff PA to make her a more reliable pick both in pubs and in competitive? I mean, she is not that bad, at least from my point of view, but I´m a noob so..... Now, what changes do you guys think are necesary in order to make PA a stronger hero?

That damage from MKB and Basher is not very significant by the time you get it. Void backtracking Laguna Blades was, and pretty much biggest RNG besides PA. Plus, the frog increased the chance of Daedalus procing and reduced its damage. This "new" RNG changes to those items was pretty much just to nerf Gyro and Crit heroes (including PA).

Icefrog wants a more balanced environment, and RNG based heroes hurt that. Pseudo-random is his way of making a more predictable game, like he did with SB and Axe in the patches before.

Anyway, please don't continue this rng subject on this thread, make another to discuss it.

From my bank of change suggestions:

- Blink Strike can now be cast on spell immune units, but will not grant the bonus attack speed.
- Blur now gives Phantom Assassin 2/5/8/11% bonus magic resistance and 2/3/4/5 bonus armour.
- Coup de Grace critical strike chance increased to 19%.
- Coup de Grace critical modifier reduced to 210%/300%/390%.

That'd be more than enough, I think. Hell, just the Blur change would do it probably.

Hmm, honestly, I have to agree with Terathiel, she's fairly strong right now, just needs 1 small buff at most.

She's geared around quickly finding Farm early on and Snowballing hard. She already has a good Kit for diving Towers and taking Roshan. Her main concern early on is not getting Nuked down. Later on, Monkey King Bar and even Silver Edge can become a problem for her, this there aren't many ways around those Items without a complete rework.

...but since this is a rework thread, here's what I would go with:-

Coup De Grace
* Actively grants Phantom Assassin 20%/30%/40% Magic Resistance (40%/47.5%/55% Magic Resistance after Base)
* Phantom Assassin's next Attack / Stifling Dagger will be given 230%/340%/450% Critical Strike Damage, afterwards she will have a 17% chance to land Critical Strikes on subsequent Attacks and Stifling Daggers
* The Critical Strike is applied to Stifling Dagger when active
* Critical Strike and Magic resistance have a duration of 5 seconds
* Cooldown == 10s | Mana Cost == 50

With this, you're considerably Tankier and thus better at fighting early on, while no longer caring about Silver Edge any more than you would MKB (neither of which will come out in the 1st 20 minutes of the game...usually). The 1st hit Critical Strike isn't that big a buff since you can abuse Pseudo-RNG to get moderately reliable Crits on at least 1 of your Attacks after Blink Strike, but at least you don't have to worry about wasting a Crit on the Dagger when you need an Auto-Attack to Crit instead...or you can troll enemies by finishing them with a 405 Pure Damage Nuke. 8{D

...and of course, 17% because 17% of the time, Phantom Assassin will Crit 100% of the time. 8{D
