So I had this terrible match yesterday against the most horrifying ganking lineup ever. After they got level 6, they were constantly missing from the map ganking us non-stop. Basically every hero on their team had really good mobility, making it literally impossible to run away. (btw I was just giving TB a try and they all picked at the 0:00 mark so its not like I could counterpick).
What could have been a good hero/strategy to counter this lineup?
oh god my eyes.... do you guys even know what a support is? jessy, barnacle and trumpet thats a painful thing to look at...
so ummm what you could have done differently?
gone full ******. dont take that the wrong way i mean actually go full ******. i mean blink sunder dagon. drums euls linkens.
the only way you could have won that was if you basically threw everything you normally build on TB out the window and try random stuff.
i would have built euls drums dagon linkens (sell drums buy bkb) blink
euls because you need a purge and a disable blink because mobility. dagon cause 2x MoM on them plus bloodrage means BOOOOOOMMMMMM one shot time. linkens for reasons and bkb cause reasons.
otherwise there was no way for you to win that imo. you had 5 carries they had 5 carries. oh wow it hurts to look at hahaha.... unlucky game dude maybe next time.
As I said, the whole enemy team picked at 0:00 so I couldn't really think of anything without losing my starting gold.
ps Just so you know, I'm mostly a support/offlane player (which should be obvious if you look at my DotaBuff) and just wanted to try a different safelane carry ;_;
Then again, if you do see my Dotabuff you'll also notice I've had some decent success with PA and Slark :3
picking a support wouldnt have changed that game at all.
No damage shall be dealt today.
Don't be that guy who picks another carry when pub scrubs pick 5 carries against 5 carries. It's ******ed. pick someone who can change the flow of teamfights.
HAHA lol the only way for that to work is if omni knight is a core. there is no way other way he gets the gold to do what he needs to do to change the flow of team fights in that game.
also he is basically useless in that game. PL means hes ******ed 90% of the time and his skills are of no use cause well diffusal. no lock down for anyone on that team, rupture goes through everything. storm is just going to run away or jump you orchid and bye bye that "great" support that can change the flow of team fights. Picking omni is a horrible idea hands down.
if a support was to even THINK of changing that game it would be either oracle or dazzle.
omni haha lol. dazzle counters 3 maybe 4 and provides mid game sustain and reductions also allows cores to survive through he initiation. yea he will die but you can purge shallow or damage amp.
Oracle because of the ult the disarm, the long range disable, and the debuff heal in fact he would be one of the better choices but in this game...
no point. the only way to change anything was to adjust your build, simple.
Terrorblade is really bad at these kind of 5v5 carry davai always fight games since he cant fight. And on top of that he is just a bad hero now since he was massively overnerfed.
Its really of no use to analyse the game and look at what other hero you coupd have picked, the game happened so now you should look at what you did wrong and learn from it.
You got a sort of combat build with drums S&Y but that wont work since they will still outfight you. Just rupture or spirit breaker will stop you completely in fights.
So i would go full avoid every fight and splitpush mode, but even that is kind of inpossible against spirit breaker and bloodseeker.
So the best you could have done is use it as an opportunity to practice map awareness by splitpushing. Get a linkens since it stops charge and get the hell out of vision if the linkens is popped or slardar is missing. Maybe get a yasha if you have good early farm, even though that chance is slim with 5 heroes trying to get farm.
Get travels+manta to just keep farming and pushing, manta is much better then s&y since the difference in hp between that and manta means nothing to your illusions because they are so squishy.
learn from the times that you die. Try to be efficient and get farm.
Now for good picks in general, pick heroes that you enjoy and have good succes with. If you purely want to know good pub picks that utility and support heroes are strong. Omnni is one of those but it wouldnt have worked this game. I general pubs cant handle AOE, so teamfight like tidehunter. Heroes that heal like abbadon, undying or necro are also strong since players dont account for the heal hen they see them.
Lastly dont go full poverty mode just because you are the only non carry, your teammates wont use the farm or support items that you get well anyway.
Send your Illusions to Push out the Creep Wave while you stay hidden in the Jungle.
Why? If you show yourself, Spirit Breaker will charge you, Storm will Ball Lightning and Orchid Malevolence you. The best way to win this game is by using Terrorblade's ability to Rat without showing up on the map.
You probably would have lost anyway, since there's not much you can do in Teamfights, and nobody in low skill understands the importance of being off the Map when there's a Breaker and Storm around.
I suggest you look at the replay and see how many deaths you could have avoided simply by sending an Illusion to get Last Hits while you take a Jungle Camp. Staying alive and Pushing out the Creep Wave is important when it comes to Rat DOTA against a Gank heavy lineup.
Terrorblade gets wrecked by other carrys with high damage because he is so squishy. Not much you could have done other than not have that enemy team.
Not really... 70% physical resistance says hi. What destroys him is magic damage, especially scaling magic damage or heroes who can deal lots of it (ie Lesh, Storm...).
Oh wait, that's half the hero pool. Please buff this POS hero.
