There seems to be a whole set of players who fall into the category of "habitual junglers" - you've probably seen them from time to time, the guys who insta-pick a hero like Nature's Prophet or Legion Commander and call it - you can mentally see them queuing up the Hand of Midas before the other team has even picked.

Now, these players will sometimes win the game convincingly for you, or sometimes cause you to lose it before it's hardly begun. Why? They're a habitual jungler, they've probably started playing this way because they can't handle having to actually lane against someone, and believe that jungling means they can avoid the early game entirely. They have one playstyle for all game situations - jungle.

If they're left alone and the rest of your team does a decent job of holding their ground, you'll probably win. The jungler will announce their supremacy and "commend me". Any game they lose, it's their team's fault - they didn't hold their towers long enough, got ganke…

Decent Game

Hello

I just played Sniper against a very tough team. I was solo mid against viper. My team was Bounty Hunter, kunkka, shadow shaman, Sniper and Lifestealer. The opposing team had Viper, Drow Ranger, Axe, Omniknight, and Disruptor. They had a huge start on us. About 10 minute into the game they started to gank each lane. They must've used smoke because our wards did not pick anything up when we got ganked. I was the first one to be ganked by their entire team. I was surprised by how fed they were because i could not do a thing to them. Anyway, they stuck together and push down all our towers until our base towers. I was worried, but thank goodness my team was able to regroup and started playing smart Dota. It all started when they tried to push down our mid base tower with their entire team. I believe i had a Mask of Madness and Desolator at the time. I took out three guys while my other teammates took out the remaining two. We needed that team wipe so badly. We were able to push down…

When first starting Dota, you play to own with a hero. Then, as you slowly start to take in the interesting teamgame that is Dota, you begin to develop a sense of roles, of purpose for each player. Soon you start to pick heroes that compliment each other, and heroes that fit in a niche that's missing from your currently drafted hero pool. You become skilled at understanding teamfights, laning, ganking, jungling, pulling, warding and all other strategic tactics that can be used to defeat your opponent.

But now, young treants, its is time to look further. Even though your direct, micro-based tactics are important to the game, you also have to start looking at the macro game. At the changes that's happening because of all the ganking, teamfights, pulling and warding. The game changes as the heroes develop, as pick-offs are made on lone heroes. One small mistake, and it could completely turn a game around. These are the things to consider when you play Dota with the aim of becoming bett…

So again another day full of dissapointment. No matter how much you try to pull them up, your team will always drag u down.
Just lost a 4v5 match(we with handicap) which was easily in the bag. Then clinkz and prophet decided instead of finishing the game they will 1v5. WHat the hell is wrong with people in ranked MMR?

Dota 2 and LoL

First of all, no ranting here - both games are good in their own way.

So I've been playing League of Legends with my friends a lot lately, and we've been enjoying it a lot - mostly because of how easy and relaxing the game is when compared to a dota 2, which we take really seriously. (Contrary to LoL where players seem to suck at positioning and do not seem to grasp simple game mechanics, at least in our level 20s pubs. Though it's definitely not that way in ranked)

We did this as a break from stressful and competitive dota matches and decided the break was over, and BOY was the break not worth it when we came back.

Long story short, our 1 month break from dota 2 really seemed to lower our game - bad lane control, bad decision making, pressing spacebar repeatedly to try to focus to the hero.. everything.

And while it was a nice experience and LoL was really fun, we'd really like to be back on track in terms of skill.

To the people who play both dota 2 and LoL regularly - how do yo…

So i got a MMR of 2989. Cant believe it as i lost most of the matches as my teams usually sucked. Just lost the last one when kunkka throwed away a rapier to ursa. But my general stats remained positive even though i supported mostly as pub noobs dont support.
So whats your story?
