The funny thing is that this Pudge has about 20K gold of farm spent in mostly useless items while I can easily make a far more useful Pudge with only ~8K gold of farm

Ghost Scepter, Blade Mail, Blink Dagger, Pipe of Insight.

Seriously guys, buying one heart on Pudge is bad enough, and buying two hearts is completely worthless. Nice solo mid hero, at that point of the game I'd much rather have pretty much any support with zero farm, I'd be way more useful.

That's not even right-click Pudge, he has no attack speed. At least go skadi/AC/crit or something if you want to play right-click Pudge.

Nahh i think he's here to show off his HP thats all XD

But yes, if u want to go a fat 6 slotted Pudge,

Assault Cuirass
Boots of Travel
Aghanim's Scepter
Shiva's Guard
Pipe of Insight
Eye of Skadi/ Mjollnir yes i'm not kidding i prefer these than Heart of Tarrasque

is your definite choice.

I almost never buy HoT on Pudge, even before i understand dota mechanism.

I was going for a troll build with high HP rather than actually optimizing my items.. At about 20 minutes, we pretty much had the game in the bag, at which point I had boots, bottle and Blink Dagger.. Since it didn't look like we were gonna lose, I went for the hearts :P

If I were playing seriously, my 6 slotted Pudge would prolly have: Boots of Travel, Blink Dagger, Force Staff, Black King Bar, Shiva's Guard, Pipe of Insight/ Blade Mail/ Ghost Scepter.

You have an amazing game and get a great screen shot and your items are under the micro scope debating what the best line up would have been. Lets not forget that the game is over no matter what items you have if pudge goes on a roll like that, I think you should get 3 hearts next time XD

I was going for the 3rd heart to replace my Urn, but the game ended before then :(

It's quite clear from the content of the OP that this wasn't depicting the 'optimal Pudge build'.

He says he went for high base damage and health, which he has. No real need to tear apart his choices.

but will, if he goes this build in a tough matchup, he won't be able to do **** will he? I'm pretty sure that buying a plate mail would have given him a higher effective health boost than that Heart of Tarrasque.

Maybe i'll do the math......nah i'm too lazy XD

Does Pudge's item build really matter in a late game situation? Like, Shiva's Guard is nice, and mobility like Blink Dagger probably nessicary (Though if you can't manage even that in a late game situation as a core, you really aren't suited for DOTA, or are just cursed with luck). I mean obviously, yeah this build there was just for fun. Going like Hex would probably be a definately in most games, since you know it's a Hex but still.

Like, the hero has two main benifits in a late game situation, neither of which really depend on your items. You have Flesh Hook (Which is relevent at every stage of the game, because it's a re-positioning tool. It will win you games when you a good hook in a late game situation.). And you have a BKB piercing disable. Even if it's piss easy to cancel, that still matters in the late game.

But that's just me thinking Pudge is actually an alright late game hero.

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

pudge is one of the best solo-hero disablers in the game.Period.

A well played pudge is just as dangerous (maybe not) as a well played bat-rider.

Two bkb piercing skills in one form a formidable combination at any point in the game.

Make a Scythe of Vyse and show people what a pudge can do.
