Slardar doesn't farm crazy well early, he isn't super tanky early, sprint can land you in a bad position and amplifies damage by a small amount early but scales poorly later if you get hit with big damage. You have to be careful not to die too much before you have your core items. Once you have those you should be constantly looking for opportunities to turn fights and pick off lone heroes.
The goal of my build is to create a melee weaver with 17% bash & troll warlord attack speed.
In a nutshell the reason you double down on mobility items with this build is that it allows you to blink stun right click, sprint lothars our of the fight then circle back and apply the break amp damage stun combo again and often blnk back out.
This build is extremely effective against heroes like bristleback, spectre, AM, abbadon etc. I skip AC and other items because the build up to moon shard is so much easier and gives you more of what you want which is bash chance. all proc chance items are secondary to locking someone down with a chain stun. Once you have blink silver edge and a moon shard you can single target just about any hero to death.
I prioritize E in an equal distribution skill point build because the bash is super important even early on IMO. Slithereen crush is an effective initiation tool but the cooldown is unchanged and the stun time negligible compared to getting the team in the fight and getting in some right click.
