Your understanding of slark is quite correct.
Although i can situationally dispute your statement that MoM should not be picked, its fine. It depends a lot on your game style.

As a slark. Player myself, I have never had games where i farmed more than 30 creeps before starting ganks. Then om, you dont need to.

Good work man.

Really good guide. Especially nice to see one that doesn't rush Skadi like a lot of people who play him do. My only criticism is that you should add an actual situational items review section, and maybe expand on it a bit due to how flexible Slark is. The ones you have listed are good, though more explanation why would be great for the people who never play him. Also, add Orchid, Butterfly, and Scythe to situational. Orchid is great for the heroes that you can't gank safely without them escaping or nuking you down, as well as solving literally all mana problems you have. Butterfly is mainly for anyone heavy on right click if you already have a decent amount of health due to the 60 damage, 60 attack speed, 4 armor and 35% evasion it gives. Scythe may sound weird, but if there are some heroes that are just so ****ing tanky or make a huge difference in a fight, it can be bought if your supports/good scythe carriers aren't planning on getting it anytime soon. You could add refresher, but if you need the 10 seconds of not getting hit, you've probably lost anyway. I've also heard some good arguments for Daedalus due to the high attack speed and damage that Slark gets when snowballing, but there are definitely better items.

And, as a final note, Slark can take on 6 slotted carries if he himself gets 6 slotted right. Had a game where I had to take on a PA in mortal combat multiple times to win, and did. But, like I said, depends on how well you slot yourself.

I think a faster Skadi would do good though, anyone with me on that?

@apaz ty. It's weird being the guy who makes the build, instead of one of the editors. I'm glad I'm up to snuff
@michmatsch yes. When I have time this weekend I will be adding the drums>Skadi build, and compare/contrast charts for:
Ring of Basilius vs. Poor Man's Shield
Shadow Blade vs. Blink Dagger
Item build #1 vs. item build #2

Exellent build, well formatted, and the build is not outdated. Overall, good job. GREAT first guide. By the way, the reason that Slark is so elusive is that he can purge Dust of Appearance with Dark Pact, and he can just Pounce away from Sentry Wards.

Anyway, all things considered, your build is immaculate. Usually I am harsh, but you have done a really good job.

How about making different sections in your build?
I mean you could take Ring of Basilius to a situational section and the Orb of Venom too and then explain when and why to get em in your guide

Alright. I like SnY because of the stats, movespeed, and maim, but I admit tge whole package is a bit pricey. Obviously the player will need to make some sacrifices along the way. I was just trying to include all the items that I judge are worthy for Slark to get at various stages of the game. When I wrote the guide, I was thinking somewhere along the lines of getting SnY if you want to end game around 30-40 minutes or so. However, I'll admit that drums>Skadi is the better option for a late game ganker. I'll add that as a second build probably, when I have the time

Good guide overall.

Critisisms:

- Could use some more creative formatting.
- I don't really get why you might want SnY over Skadi. I get that the movement speed is good, but you're better off getting just Drums of Endurance(gives you the MS and HP that youre looking for in the Sange, plus some mana pool) and then rushing Skadi. The stats and slow are just so much better.
- Add that Blink is for competitive and SB is for pubs. SB is never countered in pubs, and works great with your ult. Blink doesnt work as well but its not a counterable.
- Bottle and Basilius? plus allt he cores and the BLink or SB? I hope you have a **** ton of gold and kills early on if you want the whole package.
